I don't really have any words left:

Tell me it's satire.

None of that happened! It’s all fake! This generation are the first to do this! Those memories of men in male up from the 80s are fake! Implanted by Right Wing Christians from the US like some kind of Cis Manchurian Candidate! Why are you repeating these lies?????!!!!!

😂😂😂

What the actual fuck does it mean to be both 'non-binary' and a 'trans woman'?

Collidascope · 19/06/2020 14:17

It means you're super, super special, as opposed to just a bit special.

At a load of wank

averylongtimeago · 19/06/2020 15:15

When I was courting (as it was called then) in the '70's, I had a pixie cut, wore platforms and baggy trousers. My ?friend had hair below their shoulders, platforms and baggy trousers. Neither of us wore make up.

Which of us was a man or woman? Were/are we both non-binery trans lesbians or something?

Can anyone tell me, because if so I need to have a very difficult conversation with the other half!

He lives in a homophobic place. He is frightened of being abused by other males, homophobic males. That is part of the problem. Even though he is not gay (or hasn’t admitted to himself that he is bi/gay, who knows) he fears homophobia. He is also conflicted within himself. Society has told him that as a male he daren‘t seek to feel beautiful or value his looks. He has internalised these very restrictive gender norms and because of this he believes the answer is that he must be a woman. This is another piece of the jigsaw.

OldCrone · 19/06/2020 15:44

He lives in a homophobic place.

He says he lives in Massachusetts, the first state in the USA to pass a law allowing same-sex marriage.

Or do you just mean that the world is a homophobic place?

CatandtheFiddle · 19/06/2020 15:47

Why can’t he push the boundaries of what it means to be a man ?

This question.

Over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over again
@FreeKitties yes, my first thought too!

Men have worn eyeliner for donkeys years.

Don't get this.
Wasn't it once known as guyliner? In the days when men could wear makeup and still be men?

borntohula · 19/06/2020 15:53

Why would you choose to keep your beard whilst calling yourself a woman?

FishAreAcquaintancesNotFood · 19/06/2020 15:54

He lives in a homophobic place. He is frightened of being abused by other males,

If he was actually afraid he'd just not wear the eyeliner. He has the option of opting out of "womanhood" Hmm in this case. Unlike actual gay men or women who can't really hide their sex.

He wears it because he likes the attention he thinks he is getting for being so daring as to dress like Boy George on a duvet day.

Mascotte · 19/06/2020 15:55

You can actually purchase Guyliner even now 😃

FishAreAcquaintancesNotFood · 19/06/2020 15:57

Why would you choose to keep your beard whilst calling yourself a woman?

Because facial hair removal actually as hurts as many real women can attest to? Or possibly because his partner likes it and is prepared to go along with the delusions if he keeps the designer stubble.

It would be a lot more daring and a lot more obvious what he is trying to do if he grew his hair out and removed his facial hair so I'm not really buying the "eyeliner is so necessary to my womanhood" line.

FishAreAcquaintancesNotFood · 19/06/2020 15:59

I think guyliner is a rather new name for eyeliner. At least post Millenium came with all the "metrosexual" bollocks. Men wearing eyeliner definitely predates that, calling it "guyliner" was so ridiculous I think Simon Amstell takes the piss out of it in one of his old bits.

fascinated · 19/06/2020 15:59

Fish

I just meant that there are a lot of homophobic people around. Regardless of what the law is...

But ultimately I think a lot is just narcissism, really.

Indeed! If I saw him irl, I wouldn't even necessarily assume he was gay, just a guy who enjoys wearing makeup.

Is the guy in the guyliner ebay ad actually wearing eyeliner?

Mascotte · 19/06/2020 16:01

It's interesting to compare this to the thread about feeling like a woman.

Mascotte · 19/06/2020 16:02

It's hard to tell through his smouldering narrowed eyes

FishAreAcquaintancesNotFood · 19/06/2020 16:03

We should say smouldering a lot more.

I don't remember Kurt ever wearing eyeliner seems the anti grunge, you could only wear it if was artfully smeared to appear as though applied the night before.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 19/06/2020 16:14

So he is a gender bender?

Straight man who likes make up and being a bit 'effeminate'.

How very retro, 1980s of him.

Wonder if his DJ set reflects that?

CuriousaboutSamphire · 19/06/2020 16:17

And yes, the fucking 90s.

When the bloody stuff was sold to men, called Guyliner.

In BOOTS FFS!!!!!!!

WomaninBoots · 19/06/2020 16:20

God it's all such a steaming pile of navel gazing shit. How did humanity get to this?
