Hilarious. Have they given up with the cycling then and taken up badminton? Maybe if they spent a bit more time actually working and a bit less time tweeting and bullying women online they would get a Bether review.

FiveFootTwoEyesOfBlue · 13/06/2020 20:43

I don't think starting a thread to slag off an individual is 'in the spirit of MN', however much you don't like them. I think it's better if the trans argument sticks to principals not personal attacks. Rise above it, folks!

300XLTriColour · 13/06/2020 20:44

That was my thread and the deletion message says MNHQ are going through all the reports about it. Litigious reports perhaps? But my attention was drawn to the report owing to a cut and paste of a tweeted tantrum from the Cyclopath themselves, threatening legal action and telling the (named) senior faculty staff to fuck themselves.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 13/06/2020 20:48

On the twitter thread there are (unevidenced) mutterings that McKinnon - who uses that name on fb still - posted it in a fit of pique but deleted it quickly. So possibly self-leaked.

I believe they published it as a footnote to their extensive rebuttal.

Dreeple · 13/06/2020 20:54

The good news is they is (not) working for that unfortunate college, not for me.

ByGrabtharsHammerWhatASavings · 13/06/2020 21:01

Oh I really enjoyed that. Evading the question of why men and women have separate sports to begin with? Focusing on the quantity of their own media promotion rather than producing quality pieces of research? Failing to represent a diverse range of political views in their course? Gosh I'm sooooo shocked to hear all of that.

300XLTriColour · 13/06/2020 21:16

Attending no departmental meetings or events...

Fallingirl · 13/06/2020 21:28

The appraisal says it might impact their prospects of promotion to ‘professor’, but it is addressed to Professor Ivy. And didn’t they boast about tenure a year or two ago?

Is they professor or not?

WhatTheDormouseSaid · 13/06/2020 22:53

O joy - my heart sings.

Ameanstreakamilewide · 13/06/2020 22:55

I love the smell of schadenfreude in the evening! 😉

Serves them right.

NotBadConsidering · 13/06/2020 23:13

I think it’s in the public interest that a very vocal and well known TRA (has argued with Martina Navratilova) has published an essay on Gaslighting and that their existence at a university is centred around forwarding their own rights as a transgender cyclist rather than being an active member of the department.

Highlighting hypocrisy and narcissism in people who are trying to deprive women of sporting success is necessary.

Binglebong · 13/06/2020 23:19

She's down as an associate professor.

ErrolTheDragon · 13/06/2020 23:20

The research section ....the 'very good' seems to be on the basis of quantity rather than quality....and it sounds like they're less than impressed with the current line of work (which is basically trying to destroy women's sports).

SarahTancredi · 13/06/2020 23:24

notbad

Werent they interviewed on the radio specifically about the sports thing having written this paper themselves which is now being deemed lacking in certain aspects/credibility.

I feel like Martina navratilova and Sharron Davies etc who were part of the radio shows and questioned at times in a way made to make them look like they were the misinformed and unreasonable ones should he publically apologised to.

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 13/06/2020 23:26

down as an associate professor.

Bear in mind being a professor in the US is not at all equivalent to being one here.

JacobReesMogadishu · 13/06/2020 23:30

Yes associate professor in America equates to a lecturer position here.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Associate_professor

Melia100 · 13/06/2020 23:32

I'm cool with slagging off an individual who hope I, along with other women, would 'die in a grease fire'. Fuck niceness to abusers.

GCAcademic · 13/06/2020 23:36

Associate Professor is equivalent to senior lecturer / reader here. Assistant Professor is the equivalent to lecturer. My university switched over to these American grades a while back. Moving between Assistant and Associate Professor is what’s known as getting tenure (having a permanent job).

YgritteSnow · 13/06/2020 23:42

I'm sorry but this is hilarious as is the 🥝 thread on this person. I'll fall asleep with a smile on my face tonight Grin

NotBadConsidering · 13/06/2020 23:45

SarahTancredi

Yes, McKinnon/Ivy is not a nobody. I think it’s important to understand that when Mckinnnon/Ivy is speaking publicly about the destruction of women’s sport, it’s self-serving, and now we know it’s self-serving to the point of neglecting their responsibilities.

donquixotedelamancha · 14/06/2020 00:00

I'm shocked at what appears be a terrible review yet still receiving good and very good 2/3 of the page akd still walking away with a satisfactory.

I read that as meaning they know that at some point they are going to need to take more serious disciplinary action, but they are bending over backwards to make this performance management process as supportive as possible because they know RMK is litigious and will claim discrimination (as indeed happened anyway).

Herdwick · 14/06/2020 00:18

I'm slightly upset by the .And after a full stop on page 3.

ItsLateHumpty · 14/06/2020 05:22

That’s some melt down from ‘her thighness’. Not shocked though.
Fancy listing your colleagues by name, and telling them to to fucked while you still work there though!

Also have no fucks to give for the person who posted a gif of a dancing skeleton on the day Magdalen Berns died.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 14/06/2020 06:06

Goodness me. I've often wondered what it would be like to take Professor Ivy's module. Would you risk expressing a political view the Prof didn't agree with? I see the minimal assessment for the module included 1 or 2 page reflective essays where students could sum up their political positions. Hmm

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 14/06/2020 08:09

Just seen a tweet with what appears to be an excerpt from the minutes of the 2019 Charleston College discussion about whether to give tenure to McKinnon, which was the name in use at the time. I honestly would expect to be sacked if comments like this were made about me, never mind promoted. twitter.com/ripx4nutmeg/status/1265194717597270018?s=20
