All the news here. Safe Schools Alliance and Fair Cop are supporting a 14 year old girl take action against the CPS not he basis their LGBT hate crime guidance puts her at risk.

To quote SSAUK "We find it disturbing that this guidance seeks to control the ‘personal thoughts’ of children, we believe this to be damaging to children’s mental health. It also has a chilling effect on free speech which is the antithesis of effective #safeguarding."

The girls says ""Girls should not have to stay silent when they are uncomfortable with males in their toilets. This is supposed to be anti-bullying guidance but I feel intimidated that I would have to stay silent. That's not anti-bullying; not for girls."

This is big news, please share as much as you can.

We are pausing fundraising for now but we are wondering what the next steps are. Will they replace and what with? So there are some discussions to be had

Reading the SSA letter also makes it clear to me how it also ignores the rights of religious students. For example, the Roman Catholic Church has stated that transgender ideology is at odds with their theology. And of course many other mainstream religious groups do not accept homosexual sex or marriage. This could be considered insulting or offensive so would potentially mean a student wearing a cross, or a scripture union or Muslim student group meeting could be deemed a ‘hate incident’ with the implication that belonging to these groups, wearing a cross or hijab, or handing out an invitation to an Easter service could be prosecuted.

You can't have a society where nobody is allowed to offend anyone else. Legally that just isn't workable.

I've thought a couple of times that elements of society now remind me of an honour-shame type of culture..

This is significant news and can be used to show that any advice or guidance issued by Stonewall, GI or other lobby groups is legally questionable.

Members of NASUWT should be asking questions of their union's involvement in this.

Members of this teachers'union should be also aware of the previously published 'Trans Equality in Schools and Colleges, Advice and Guidance for Teachers and Leaders' by NASUWT. It disregards female staff's sex based rights & Safeguarding.
