Dr Adrian Harrop (a trans activist) just asked for screen shots of anti trans statements posted here at MN

Posted his request about 5 minutes ago (or at least thats when I saw it) on twitter.

Im not even particularly anti trans, but when I see attempts to whip up mobs like that, I feel that hes making people anti trans.

Sort makes me want to resort to making insidious dog whistle anti trans rhetoric just to fuck with him.

Leaving his trans stance aside, going by the rest of his twitter offerings, hes definitely not the person I would want as a GP. Lacks decorum and gravitas.

As many PP have said, doesn't an NHS doctor have more pressing concerns during a global pandemic? What kind of medic imagines this is a time for an attack on mumsnet? Incredible bad timing and poor taste.

Datun · 16/04/2020 16:53

It doesn't appear to be going his way on Twitter. It's a complete show up, in fact.

traceyracer · 16/04/2020 16:56

He's a misogynist

justanotherneighinparadise · 16/04/2020 16:59

Food doesn’t need to be political. It can just be food 😊

Lordfrontpaw · 16/04/2020 17:03

Hahahahaha.

PronounssheRa · 16/04/2020 17:12

If a friend or family member of mine was displaying this kind of behaviour, I would be very worried about them. To be frank, Harrop comes across as more than a little obsessed and unhinged.

At a time of pandemic, Harrop, a doctor, is more concerned about economically punishing women.

Ps I bloody love.lurpak.

BovaryX · 16/04/2020 17:13

What is this NHS doctor doing? What twisted priorities. Good grief. Unbelievable.

MrsSnippyPants · 16/04/2020 17:22

He's been like this for years Bovary, he's like a deranged Joe 90.

Lordfrontpaw · 16/04/2020 17:24

I’m not 100% certain he isn’t Dennis Pennis. There’s just something...

BovaryX · 16/04/2020 17:24

MrsSnippy

It really is quite appalling. But the timing of this is going to reflect extremely badly on its source. I hope it gets picked up by the press.

Lordfrontpaw · 16/04/2020 17:29

So who is ‘the source’. Not naming names obviously - but is is a ‘usual suspect’?

Campervan69 · 16/04/2020 17:36

That Sky News appearance with Posie Parker is still one of the classics. So funny. What a dick he is.

WhatKatyDidNot · 16/04/2020 17:37

Chris Whitty has just said the dreaded words male sex on national television. What a despicable transphobe. I think Doctor Adrian's new campaign should focus on trying to get England's Chief Medical Officer the sack.

R0wantrees · 16/04/2020 17:37

He he an actual Doctor? Surely not.

Bentneck
Yes, recently qualified as a GP I think.

Odd behaviour.... friends of mine who are HCPs (incuding Drs) would be simailrly perplexed. If they had time & inclination to consider it (which they haven't at this time)

Nelliana · 16/04/2020 17:40

Oh dear. It didn't work Adrian. Maybe you should get back and do the job you are presumably paid to do, as a GP, in the midst of a Pandemic, rather than spending your time harassing Mumsnet by try to get rid of their funding. Not nice behaviour. Mumsnet is a very beneficial forum particularly for women with young children, and it provides a vital peer to peer support mechanism. Why on earth would you, as a gp, want to get this vital platform for women shut down eh? That's not very professional behaviour and one could be forgiven for thinking that you don't care very much about half the population with these actions. (That's women in case you weren't clear). Are you sure you're in the right job Adrian? As I thought being a GP was supposed to be a caring job, not one where you try to get women's support groups shut down. Just a thought....

BovaryX · 16/04/2020 17:41

Why on earth would you, as a gp, want to get this vital platform for women shut down eh?

Good question.

lanadelgrey · 16/04/2020 17:43

Can’t link as not on twitter but he has had his reply. Arla obviously just care about cows not online spats.
Doctors can back to the job of health and milk cooperatives to providing. Mumsnet carries on doing what it does best

lanadelgrey · 16/04/2020 17:54

Oops and a Smile for all the cows and women who do such good work

terryleather · 16/04/2020 17:54

I'm gonna eat a big slab of toast drenched in too much melty dripping Lurpak while idly flicking the "V"s in the general direction of frothing Fanny H...just because I can...

RedDogsBeg · 16/04/2020 18:00

I think the dear doctor is triggered and emotionally overwrought because COVID-19 doesn't respect gender identities and inner feelings but works on that irrefutable reality of the sex binary of the human race.

merrymouse · 16/04/2020 18:08

Very strange time for a GP to be focusing on shutting down a source of information and support for women who are about to or who have recently given birth.

DocHolliday · 16/04/2020 18:12

Arla well done. Excellent response.

Carry on Fanny. Good the wider audience and your fellow medics see your priorities during a national crisis.

I'll be organising a virtual slow hand clap, just for you, at about 8.15.

KaronAVyrus · 16/04/2020 18:13

Places like Mumsnet (and similar) save the NHS money as new mums can gather to support one another and take the pressure off GPs and health visitors. Strange that Harrop can’t see that but he’s motivated by hatred.
