Posted his request about 5 minutes ago (or at least thats when I saw it) on twitter.

Im not even particularly anti trans, but when I see attempts to whip up mobs like that, I feel that hes making people anti trans.

Sort makes me want to resort to making insidious dog whistle anti trans rhetoric just to fuck with him.

Leaving his trans stance aside, going by the rest of his twitter offerings, hes definitely not the person I would want as a GP. Lacks decorum and gravitas.

I’m another that didn’t know that Arla was a cooperative, and now that I do, I’ll definitely prioritise their stuff - I don’t drink moo juice, but I love their protein pots.

Also loving Aidey’s one man recruitment drive for MN premium 🤣 no fucking wonder he hates us, there’s not a woman here obeying him. Why oh why will we not just be good girls and do what we’re told?

cookingmywaythroughlockdown · 17/04/2020 19:51

Some years ago I was aware of Harrop in a work context. He represented himself in the media as a nhs doctor up against the government, standing up for patients in an underfunded hellhole etc etc. Now it was true that he was working in the NHS and it was true the services were starved of cash and under pressure. What he didn't say on the news though was that he was actually a locum Doctor. On locum rates.

cookingmywaythroughlockdown · 17/04/2020 19:53

At least that's my recollection, perhaps he didn't think that was relevant. And perhaps it wasn't but it was always struck me as having the smell of hypocrisy.

popehilarious · 17/04/2020 22:39

Speaking of smells...
From looking elsewhere he seems to have deleted a tweet he posted
suggesting brands like White Company and Jo Malone give luxury candles to NHS workers such as himself... Not the first thing I'd have thought to do in a global pandemic eh, but I guess that's the difference between me and Adey.

popehilarious · 17/04/2020 22:44

Oh, he didn't delete it - twitter.com/AdrianHarrop/status/1248673433984143362

followed by 'well, it would be the least they could do in the circumstances really! unless of course they ... hate the NHS? '

You can see their pathetic reasoning with that one. "Anyone who doesn't give what we demand hates something I affiliate myself with".

Datun · 17/04/2020 23:18

Is he really saying if you don't give me free, luxury stuff it means you hate the NHS?

LizzyButton · 17/04/2020 23:30

Influencers, eh?

Soontobe60 · 17/04/2020 23:33

In the same candle tweet he also says he's working from home. How does a GP work from home? I wouldn't like to think my GP would be able to access all my medical records anywhere but the surgery!

titchy · 17/04/2020 23:37

Hmmmmmm, a white rose and lemon candle or adequate PPE...

Tricky one that.

MoleSmokes · 17/04/2020 23:42

What an entitled little . . .

. . . there's other doctors risking their lives, sweating inside PPE,

. . . nurses risking their lives wearing sodding bin-bags because they can't get hold of PPE,

. . . care staff risking their lives and who can't get tested for Covid-19 because the Testing Centres are "drive-through" so you need a CAR to be able to use them

. . . people are dying, bereaved, have lost their jobs, businesses have gone bust

. . . and smug-bucket Harrop is cosy at home on his GP salary, emotionally blackmailing companies into giving him free fucking candles . . . or maybe "they hate the NHS?"

archive.is/NnYw2

Not a thought in his narcissistic, sociopathic little brain that people at Jo Malone or the White Company may have lost their lives or loved ones to this bloody plague. Just, "Give me free stuff, you peasants!"

Any time I think I cannot despise the little prick any more he outdoes himself!

He is working from home, safe and sound. Hardly front line and seriously at risk. is he?

Everyone else is asking for masks, gowns, hibiscrub, equipment etc.
But Dr. Dolittle is hustling for a free posh candle?

And it seems to me Ade lives his life
Like a candle in the wind
With only Big Steph to cling to
When the rain sets in

(Sorry Elton)

MoleSmokes · 18/04/2020 00:32

Ha ha ha!! Excellent, DocHolliday Grin

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 18/04/2020 00:56

How about we give the candles to the NHS staff working on the front lines rather than from home, so they can relax during the part of the day where they're not risking their lives? If Harrop was a nice person he might even buy one for those of his colleagues who're working much harder than he is

Ereshkigalangcleg · 18/04/2020 01:40

He's lost any sense of self awareness. It's like the old days.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 18/04/2020 01:41

That sounds like an excellent idea kittens, I'm sure Adrian will be the first to agree.

FlyingOink · 18/04/2020 02:15

He must be an HR nightmare. I wonder if they've considered getting rid but decided it's too much hassle?
Imagine the shitstorm that would be Haddock Vs his local NHS trust, represented by the flying liar.

Doesn't bear thinking about.

AbsintheFriends · 18/04/2020 07:29

The NHS is - quite bloody rightly - finally being recognised as the absolute foundation stone of our society, and hopefully this crisis will mean that funding, investment in resources and pay for workers at all levels become a top priority for many governments to come. That's what all the NHS staff I've seen are taking the opportunity to push for while the attention of the media is on them.

Except this one. Harrop is using this crisis, and the gratitude of the public for the NHS, as a chance to shill for free treats for himself.

It reminds me of that moment in Titanic when Kate Winslet's slimy fiancé seizes a random child and uses her as his ticket into a lifeboat. Loathsome.

"Here's one doctor who believes we should have just ignored the virus, and another who believes the data that shows the virus kills at least twice as many biological men than women is insignificant t.co/4A45weepmy "

Politicians have to think politically as well as taking the advice of doctors and scientists.

If we had just allowed the virus to run through us as Dr Christian suggested then yep, it would certainly have burnt out quickly, but we’d have also had bodies littering our streets and rioting/civil unrest and all the wonderful things that throws up, looting, arson etc.

triggsey · 18/04/2020 10:06

Adrian claiming trans women’s testosterone drops below women's?

Not only untrue, but in fact the lowest T levels in trans women never get anywhere near as low as the highest T levels found in women.

Lordfrontpaw · 18/04/2020 10:10

He doesn’t really know. Glad he’s not my doctor. That pair aren’t giving doctors a very good name are they?

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 18/04/2020 10:40

I really struggle to believe that these two men are allowed to practise medicine.

Did Dr Christian not see the models for how many would die if we'd let the virus 'run its course'? And he thinks that's a preferable outcome?

Lordfrontpaw · 18/04/2020 10:43

It’s really not doing gay men any favours -
A couple of nasty misogynists.

popehilarious · 18/04/2020 10:52

I doubt those two are representative of gay men, as a group, to most people!

Lordfrontpaw · 18/04/2020 10:55

True - but they put me in mind of certain old school gay comedians/actors who had a particularly violent and nasty streak towards women, and they were often the brunt of their jokes and treated like idiots. And people clapped.
