Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

Dr Adrian Harrop (a trans activist) just asked for screen shots of anti trans statements posted here at MN

ForbiddenFromNaples · 16/04/2020 12:48

Posted his request about 5 minutes ago (or at least thats when I saw it) on twitter.

Im not even particularly anti trans, but when I see attempts to whip up mobs like that, I feel that hes making people anti trans.

Sort makes me want to resort to making insidious dog whistle anti trans rhetoric just to fuck with him.

Leaving his trans stance aside, going by the rest of his twitter offerings, hes definitely not the person I would want as a GP. Lacks decorum and gravitas.

I think what showed them up is Arla asking for examples of transphobia and they totally failed to provide any (because they don't exist). It's a good defence for any company targetted in this way.

Nauticant's link to Dr Horrid talking anti-science on Twitter archived here in case you are blocked:

That person tweeting Church of Satan stuff at Arla . . . Grin

Ali Bee, who wrote the song with what PC Gul of Humberbeat Thought Police referred to as a "transphobic limerick" ( "lyric", PC Gul, the word is "lyric"!) wrote a song about a Doctor too . . .

twitter.com/OldWomanSinging/status/1250843092967702531

"Don't go to the doctor (dedicated to a certain doc on twitter)"

Don’t go to the doctor if he can’t tell your sex
He’ll give you the wrong medicine
And it might have negative effects
With side effects like pain or death or other nasty things
He’s not a proper doctor if to gender crap he clings

Oh doctor, oh doctor, you silly, silly man
You know that humans can’t change sex
While you insist they can
Why are you a misogynist? why are you such a fool?
How can you be a doctor, ignoring all you learned at school?

Don’t go to the doctor who thinks a penis can be female
And uses this offensive lie in doxing and in blackmail
Don’t go to a doctor who on twitter gets all shoutie
If a woman knows the difference in an innie and an outie

Don’t go to the doctor if your daughter likes to build
He’ll sterilise and fix her say she cannot be fulfilled
Unless she changes gender and is magically a boy
Then he can play with bricks and stuff and other manly toys

Don’t go to a doctor who thinks your male child
Must be a girl ‘cos he likes pink and must from manhood be exiled
He’ll want to chop his nads off and dose him up with pills
And encourage him to play the part (I think it gives him thrills)

All the education in the world can’t stop someone being foolish
And lying through his very teeth supporting something quite so ghoulish
He wants to silence women he wants to take our rights
He’ll dox you in a minute to his crazy acolytes

But women won’t be silenced you silly little man
See, we know where you came from and we can see your plan
Your mother is a woman, your father, he is male
Your claims are merely fantasy. Our reality’s not for sale.

missyB1 · 17/04/2020 14:45

I’m finding it almost impossible to believe this man went to medical school. Is he actually currently employed as a GP? 🤔

Gibbonsgibbonsgibbons · 17/04/2020 15:39

Thank you for wishywashysciencywanky archive what a prize potato he is.

MindTheMinotaur · 17/04/2020 15:52

molesmokes the Church of Satan is surely a key demographic for any discussions around mainstream milk marketing. Smile

I understand that a key representation of Satan incorporates male and female aspects with breasts and a penis. You could certainly spiral off into some weird speculations around that...

MoleSmokes · 17/04/2020 16:34

missB1 - Is he actually currently employed as a GP?

It's all a bit fuzzy-facts at the moment.

On another current Mumsnet thread, Justhadathought said,

"His linked in says he is a GP at Brownlow medical Practice (Liverpool) . . . However, he doesn't appear to be on their staff list."

Dr H has tweeted that he is currently working from home for NHS 111 answering telephone calls.

Meanwhile, Brownlow have tweeted thanking him for putting together a list of local Pharmacies.

Also on Twitter, he has been evading questions about what his "day job" actually is - with someone cheekily suggesting that the praise from Brownlow points to an "Admin" role Grin

Anything that keeps him well away from patient contact sounds like a good thing - I certainly would not want him anywhere near me.

He might pretend that he believes all that gender guff but the give-away is that he is unremittingly misogynistic, so knows perfectly well what a woman is. That "cis" tripe does not wash with me Hmm

Mrsmorton · 17/04/2020 16:36

I had a very unpleasant incel working for me last year and he used American phrasing y'all and gotten etc. Weird that haddock is doing it as well. Must be something to do with hating women.

aladyofinderterminateage · 17/04/2020 16:44

Like so many other things, this has arrived from America, so I suppose the vocabulary has arrived with it.

RumbaswithPumbaas · 17/04/2020 16:56

Is this why the waiting times for 111 have been so long?

DaydreamingDay · 17/04/2020 17:04

I love that Arla asked for evidence. 😂😂 TRAs are so used to clicking their fingers and having companies bend to their will that any money they were not expecting this. But they had better get used to it. They've had their day.

DocHolliday · 17/04/2020 17:31

Meanwhile, Brownlow have tweeted thanking him for putting together a list of local Pharmacies.

Is that the GP version of sending the apprentice for some bubbles for the spirit level, or to buy a long stand?

Does he know where the corner shop is? Perhaps he could get some some milk for the staff while he is at it. Arla of course.

WeBuiltCisCityOnSeeingSouls · 17/04/2020 17:37

Well if he's going to the shop, I would like some tartan paint please Smile

Ereshkigalangcleg · 17/04/2020 17:37

Making lists of contacts or looking up things on the internet is the sort of thing I do in my job when I've got fuck all else to do.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 17/04/2020 17:38

Haha was about to suggest the Tartan paint Grin

TinselAngel · 17/04/2020 17:53

A list of left handed screw diver stockists is next.

TinselAngel · 17/04/2020 17:53

Screw driver!

Aesopfable · 17/04/2020 17:57

Why on earth would a GP practice need to ask someone to put together a list of pharmacies? Don’t they all maintain lists to send prescriptions to? And surely the CCG would know them all too? It is not as if pharmacies can just set themselves up in vacant units so there might be some they don’t know about....

DocHolliday · 17/04/2020 18:01

Here you go Ades.
When you have done listing the local pharmacies.( I think they know of them already, truth be told.)

I think there is another little job for you. A little help here. Just for you. Nudge nudge wink wink taps nose.

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 17/04/2020 18:03

Does anyone else hear the word 'ergo' in the voice of Cartman?

DocHolliday · 17/04/2020 18:06

In fact Ades, check your work for errors, against this list. HtH

InAGarden · 17/04/2020 18:21

I love Arla filtered milk, and the company’s sensible response and continued advertisement on Mumsnet has made me look into the company and their products more. I will aim to buy more products by them because I love the fact that they support farmers and that they have not succumbed to this campaign to harm a forum which is vital to parents and their families.

Bananabixfloof · 17/04/2020 18:48

He was given a task of collating pharmacies?
My council webpage has a list, my surgery webpage gives the nearest to them, Google is my friend. My local paper has a list of all the late night ones.
Jesus did they just not want to let him near actual patients?

Mrsmorton · 17/04/2020 18:51

Something to keep him quiet clearly. He has an epic lack of self awareness doesn't he.

TundraDweller · 17/04/2020 19:00

I am so relieved I don’t need to boycott Lurpak!! Thank you Arla for your sensible response. I will also be increasing my Arla spend now I know it’s a cooperative.

RedDogsBeg · 17/04/2020 19:11

"Your company is no friend or ally of our community" says it all really.

That phrase summed it up for me too, merrymouse, it drips with arrogance and God-like delusion. This trend for companies to be allies or champions is such utter horseshit, companies are there to sell things, employ people and make a profit, that's it, they are not there to preach or politicise shopping.

Many retailers, particularly in the clothing sector, we having a tough time before the coronavirus lock down with the rise of online shopping in particular, perhaps they may rethink their changing room policies and realise that pandering to the type of men who want to try on clothes in the same spaces as women and young girls is not going to drive those women and girls back into their shops when the lock down is lifted.
