Men pushing in in queues and not social distancing.

I know in the scheme of things this is only small but its the bloody entitlement that gets to me.

When the new Coronavirus Bill came in last Thursday two men used the 2 m gap to try to push in front while i was queuing outside Tesco.

Re, social distancing , i try i really try to stay 2m from people at all times on the rare occasions but the amount of men who walk right next to me or towards me KNOWING that i will move.

This afternoon was the final straw Queuing outside Sainsburys observing the 2 m rule i had to wait until the queue moved to where the trolleys were . There was no way i could get to them BEFORE queuing and observe the 2m rule so i had to wait in the queue before i got to them. I leant across to put my pound in the slot and the FOUR men queuing behind me jumped the queue by moving along in front.

Im so fed up with the entitlement Every time its been a man EVERY TIME. Ive not seen this from women at all .

This is the type of nasty, bitchy behaviour I referred to earlier - as commonly found in all female spaces such as schools.

Oh dear.

Justhadathought · 08/04/2020 14:30

To be fair Mumsnet as a whole must be a bit of a shock to anyone who's not used to swearing

i'm perfectly used to hearing swearing ..but find it a rather inarticulate and crude way to express one's thoughts, generally.

Rather a generalisation about Glasgow..But hey, while we are wildly making negative generalisations about whole groups and populations...Why not?

Datun · 08/04/2020 14:32

I'm fucking way articulate, me.

FloralBunting · 08/04/2020 14:32

Yes, we mustn't be amused by people being pompous and ridiculous. As we're women, we should definitely be nicer to people like that than we feel, we must never find tantrums funny, and don't ever be 'bitches' or swear.

Definitely nuanced feminism, that.

Justhadathought · 08/04/2020 14:36

The 'girl gangs' on mumsnet are so transparent, and always have been. It is one of the things that can make the forum so unpleasant, at times. The same predictable few, in the main. Ah well! I'll Leave you to it. The sun is shining, and I'm going out to throw some netballs in the garden.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 08/04/2020 14:38

"Giggles aggressively" needs to be a hashtag or something. Those nasty women with their giggling and their being friends with each other! They'll be cuddling next (in an aggressive manner of course).

Datun · 08/04/2020 14:38

Just, being pompous, complaining that women who swear are angry, making sweeping generalisations about how nasty and bitchy all female spaces are - on a feminist board, is, I hate to break this to you, going to be met with disagreement.

The fact that it was fairly benign and mild might not have been the reaction you were seeking tho.

FloralBunting · 08/04/2020 14:39

Jolly hockey sticks.

We'll all stop being friends in your absence. Wouldn't want a general feminist discussion to be turned into a personal disgruntlement flounce.

Datun · 08/04/2020 14:39

Kittens, What was the other thing about breasts? Was it aggressive breasts?

Justhadathought · 08/04/2020 14:39

*That is exactly what happens on here. Exactly. And yet they will deny it until their very last breath8

Get out and enjoy the sun.......life is too short. This is one of the worst threads in recent days.....there are others, though.....which are far more worthwhile and less unpleasant.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 08/04/2020 14:40

Didn't someone write "beasts" instead of breasts? Something to do with the Daily Mail I think.

Hearhoovesthinkzebras · 08/04/2020 14:41

This just sums it up doesn't it?

It is exactly like the school playground and the group of mean girls. All laughing and high fiving each other for ostracizing someone else who isn't in the gang.

R0wantrees · 08/04/2020 14:42

Well, Hooves is, but that appears to be the default for them

Who is"them"? Anyone who is in some kind of conflict or disagreement with you? This is the type of nasty, bitchy behaviour I referred to earlier - as commonly found in all female spaces such as schools.

I thought the 'them' in the first sentence is Hooves & its a singular gender neutral 'them'. Hmm

Datun · 08/04/2020 14:42

Crikey, was everybody's girls' school a hotbed of mean girls, cool girls, ostracisation and gangs??

Mine wasn't

R0wantrees · 08/04/2020 14:46

No it isn't.

I'm wondering about that false accusation to me Hooves

condescending
/kɒndɪˈsɛndɪŋ/

adjective
having or showing an attitude of patronizing superiority.

TinselAngel · 08/04/2020 14:46

Nobody has been ostracised. You're just not being agreed with. It's not the same thing.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 08/04/2020 14:47

My school could have done with better heating and more edible food but other than that it was just, you know, a school.

Flumo · 08/04/2020 14:50

Definitely not just men!!

FloralBunting · 08/04/2020 14:50

I heard my school was a hotbed for drugs. I never even saw a spliff and spent most of my time there trying to play football at break and being told to get off the playground and stand at the edge with the other girls.

I reckon some feminist analysis of male pattern behaviour might have served me well, eh?

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 08/04/2020 14:51

I wish my school had been a hotbed for drugs...would have been a lot more exciting.

Hearhoovesthinkzebras · 08/04/2020 14:54

Crikey, was everybody's girls' school a hotbed of mean girls, cool girls, ostracisation and gangs??

Didn't go to a girls school.

having or showing an attitude of patronizing superiority.

Thanks, I know what condescending means, and you've just proved my point.

Nobody has been ostracised. You're just not being agreed with. It's not the same thing.

No problem with you disagreeing. It's the personal insults, the gang mentality, the "ooh aren't we clever" giggling and high fiving but this is and always will be an echo chamber, so no change there.

TinselAngel · 08/04/2020 14:55

If it'd be a hotbed it would have solved the heating problem too Kittens

My (co-ed) school was also freezing in winter. We all wore leggings under our skirts and spent all break time huddled around the radiator.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 08/04/2020 14:58

My school could have been a case study in the optimum number of layers between arse and heater needed in order to maintain body heat without getting burns that would be awkward to explain.

Datun · 08/04/2020 15:00

My school was characterised by terrible haircuts, being boiling hot in the summer, freezing cold in the winter.

I certainly never high-fived anyone. I don't actually think it was a thing, to be honest.

Sounds more like those made up American high schools to me.

HorseRadishFemish · 08/04/2020 15:00

Did you need a link to the coronavirus section for all your non feminist analysis related needs?
