I’m sure they were asking for your ‘sex at birth’ previously?

Yes, but still very last year. Now we cherish our heroes, our doctors and nurses, our supermarket workers, our agricultural workers, delivery drivers, our pharmacists, our transport workers, binmen and teachers. Those that do jobs without recognition.

God knows what Sarah Brown has achieved. Wasnt she the Cambridge councillor who tried to enforce gender neutral public toilets without bothering to consult either women or the disabled? Whatever. She clearly is tone deaf in terms of the mood of thd nation. My hope is that she has earned her irrelevance.

ThinEndoftheWedge · 30/03/2020 20:02

Brown insists that males who identify as women be treated as female in healthcare & asserts this for themself.

Right - like Yaniv with his need to be seen by a gynaecologist???!!!!

Lordfrontpaw · 30/03/2020 20:16

But males who identify as females seem to get the jobs, shortlisted positions, actually listened to, the police out of someone gives them the squint eye, ignored once they hit 40... they really really don’t want to be treated like a woman!

Brown (incorrectly) modified the implementation of the Equality Act 2010 in Cambridge almost as soon as it was passed.

Anne Sinnott discovered & exposed what had happened. Eventually Cambridge CC corrected their policies:

Brown & partner Zoe O'Connor were also key members of the influential LibDem LGBT+ group:

& of course also members of the powerful Stonewall Trans Advisory group:

OhHolyJesus · 30/03/2020 22:45

Zoe is the name of Sarah's partner. The two men are in a 'V shaped' polyamorous relationship with Sarah's wife. Hmm

I realise this adds nothing to the discussion. I was just googling Sarah and found this old tripe:

As you were.

'I suppose they think it’s such a tiny proportion of people, it won’t meaningfully affect the data'

This. This is the argument across loads of things.

They know that most people with asked gender say their sex
They know that most people don't read assigned at birth Vs birth sex and will just tick male female

The argument for altering language seems to be that most people won't understand the difference so why not.

That's a terrible reason for moving away from biological reality and into, tick what you fancy.

MrsSnippyPants · 31/03/2020 10:35

Someone on Twitter has asked “Surely GDPR means you shouldn’t collect data unless it’s relevant? How is someone’s feelings about gender even remotely relevant to the data you are collecting?”

I think it’s a good point but I’m no GDPR expert.

Fixed it.

bellinisurge · 31/03/2020 10:41

I do know a bit about GDPR, slightly less than zero anyway, and no, a person's feelings about gender are not relevant. However, if this is a truly anonymous survey, GDPR doesn't apply. If.
Which means you can include feelz nonsense but have a less accurate survey.

MrsSnippyPants · 31/03/2020 10:48

Is it anonymous though? You have to give an email address for instance.

One thing the pandemic makes clear is that biology matters. Risk factors include XY chromosomes, obsesity, age.

Tough but true. You can't self ID yourself out of a virus.

BeetrootRocks · 31/03/2020 12:12

The worst thing about coronavirus is it's transphobic.

Angryresister · 31/03/2020 19:20

Here is the reply I had... yes we can see the real agenda here...,
“we are not able to meet your demand. Our goal here is to be as inclusive as possible while collecting valid data that helps everyone. It is important for us to understand the role that hormone replacement medications may play in transgender individuals among other things. We appreciate your feedback and hope you continue to log your symptoms to help our scientists ”
I m in favour of using science but by using assigned at birth, they do not include me.

Binterested · 31/03/2020 19:32

They don’t ask what HRT people are on Hmm. They didn’t ask me - an actual woman.

ChattyLion · 31/03/2020 19:35

Do they ask about hormonal contraception?

Lordfrontpaw · 31/03/2020 19:36

But are they asking about any/if hormones taken or if a woman is taking hrt?

PicturesOfCats · 31/03/2020 19:40

If that was what they were after, they’d have a question on whether you are on HRT, surely?
Do they really think we’re that thick?

MrsSnippyPants · 31/03/2020 19:40

'Transgender individuals' do not take hormone replacement. They take cross sex hormones. Not very clever scientists are they?

OP posts:
PicturesOfCats · 31/03/2020 19:41

Although if disingenuousness was a science, then they’d be geniuses

Kit19 · 31/03/2020 19:42

They don’t ask about HRT or contraception so they can get to fuck with their “go away silly women” answer

Binterested · 31/03/2020 19:43

And most don’t take any HRT. Or undertake any other body modifying interventions. This is bullshit.

BringbackLang · 31/03/2020 19:44

They are not doing themselves any favours. I'm all for helping out but because of their insistence in pandering to woo and excluding people in the name of 'inclusivity' I'm not at all sure that they understand science and wonder if it is genuine. I have now deleted the app.

Angryresister · 31/03/2020 19:48

Personally I would be quite interested in knowing whether the fact that I was given a pneumonia jab with the flu jab has meant I only suffered minor symptoms if cv was was I had. But do not trust these so called scientists wh9 don’t seem bothered bout looking at real data

Binterested · 31/03/2020 19:48

Yes this is dissembling. Why would I trust such dishonest people with my data after that ?
