I do wonder how representative the people running women’s organisations are. I tend to think Scottish women are less likely to toe a fashionable line than in England.
But, of the five speakers in that Engender podcast, only the two Engender women were born and bred in Scotland, as far as I can see. The Women's Aid speaker came from the USA in her 40s. The Trans Alliance speaker grew up male in the USA, and the Rape Crisis speaker grew up male in India.
The gender identity movement seems to be even more entrenched in the USA than over here. And obviously transpeople are going to push the trans line.
