Lent Talk to be given by Rachel Mann on Radio 4 on Trans Identity

Rachel Mann was one of the witnesses on the recent Moral Maze programme. Here is the Radio Times blurb for the upcoming talk:

"Anglican priest Rachel Mann reflects on the events leading up to Jesus' crucifixion and on her journey of identity as a trans woman."

Does anyone else find that juxtaposition a little....I can't quite find the appropriate word... Shock

Same person who was involved in the trans baptisms controversy I think:

It is fascinating that as an Anglican Christian this person specifically rejects the doctrine of transubstantiation (that the bread and wine LITERALLY become the body and blood of Christ) and yet ....

Well, thank you for that entertaining link.
Some very odd ideas about women there and a quote from Foucault too.
Priceless

Such a smug voice in the trailers too...OMG like they knew they were the New God (narcissism writ large indeed). Will not listen to it, just could not. Of course BBC gives THIS a platform.

As my DH often says, "wrong on so many levels".

Thanks ThePurported. I mean, sort of thank you, because much mind-bleach now required. Could anyone read that poem and the self-absorbed twaddle and not feel a strong compulsion to slide away?

I'm actually quite shocked.

If Lent is about anything, it's about getting your head OUT of your arse. Your needs, your wants are to be minimised and weakened.

Imagine comparing yourself to Jesus. Does rev Mann serve an actual parish?

This is just a sub-editor, probably, being a bit gauche, amirite?

Oh, that Foucault Hmm- I thought it was going to be the sensible one with the eponymous pendulum.

FFS. Trans Christmas next I expect. Jesus's birth - and my rebirth!
