Hmmm. I do hope that his wife has always been in the know as otherwise the rumours of other relationships may get awkward.
I met a friend of a friend who professed to a dalliance in the early 90s.

Reverting to the past. Many, many years ago my aunt, who lived in Soho, was very theatrical and adored entertaining male actors who were (now) very obviously gay (although that word meant something else entirely). I suppose a sort of beard. However, we accepted these men for themselves, as their sexual orientation was of no interest to us

My only concern with PS's wife is if she was hoping her marriage meant she has a life-long companion. No doubt he will have plenty of interest from his chosen community: it is, unfortunately, less easy for a woman of advancing years. She either goes younger (hello Egypt from recent reports), or bags herself someone who is set in his ways and/or has life threatening health problems. Speaking for a friend, obviously....…...

That's more than half the battle. He'll have got a large number of people to make an emotional investment in his narrative and they'll cling to it even when a far less flattering truth emerges. The PRs have earned their money in this business.

The reality is looking sordid enough. But to have his PRs spin in a web to trap his wife an family in a false narrative is very unpleasant.

James O'Brien on LBC was being all cool.and woke about this until a woman phoned in to express her dismay at finding out her husband was gay from one of his lovers. All sorts of distress about her marrige being a lie was discussed and O'Brien confessed to being shocked at the womans perspective, in that it hadn't occurred to him that there were other sides to this ..I wonder if he'll listen to Trans widows with more sympathy now ..

Have to confess I hadn’t realised he wasn’t gay, tbh. But I don’t think it’s homophobic to feel that it’s a shit way to treat your spouse to basically dump them publicly, announce to the world that the marriage was a sham, you’d basically duped them into being a beard, and then garner praise for how ‘brave’ you are to do all of this. It smacks of her just being a bit-part in his life story for him, doesn’t show her any (public) respect as a complete independent human whose life he has massively changed by doing this.

This is GARBAGE , they adore each other
