Such is the sheer amount of fuckwittery around at the moment, I find myself envious of people being quarantined.

Crisp sheets, peace and quiet, possible internet detox. What's not to like? (Assuming you don't get ill of course).

Anyone joining me?

(Or am I getting quarantine mixed up with a spa break?)

Oh oh please, me, I’m terribly infectious with the Everydaybullshitvirus and must be quarantined immediately.

I’m totally on board with anything with butter, especially the really divine hand made Welsh one I enjoyed last year. In fact, I can heartily recommend where I stayed as a quarantine location. Middle of nowhere, very quiet, very dark, hot tub and the most delightful and unlikely pub a mere 9 minute stagger with a head torch. I could just do with a couple of dogs wistful and definitely someone Nanny-ish to tuck me in and bring me some macaroni cheese about 9pm and lots of wine

I have dog. He’s gorgeous. A 9 minute stagger is very appealing.

But I’ve drunk all the wine.

I'll stay offline and get some typing done.

I hope it won't be on a noisy typewriter? I don't want my quarantine snoozing disturbed.

I quite like the idea of us all having audio book story time then languidly discussing it afterwards.

Tinsel Nope, on my laptop, the keys don't make too much noise. Of course if people were napping I'd find somewhere else to go, or have a nap myself.

That'll be a contributing factor to the necessity for us all to be quarantined if we play our cards right.

Can I wear my disreputable dressing gown? Its very comfy. I bought a new one but it makes me look like a fat boxer.

I think some gentle typing noises in another room could be restful, sapphire....quite noisy and stormy outside just now anyway!

I stayed in an Uber fancy spa hotel for a weekend with dh it was utterly wasted on him where pjs and robes are allowed, indeed encouraged, everywhere but the fancy restaurant for dinner. The lovely staff told tale of the great snow of 2018 where one couple couldn't be evacuated from their three day stay, so has the run of the hotel with a skeleton staff for an additional four days until the airport reopened. Can you imagine the bliss?

I'm planning a day by myself in the same spa soon. I will not talk to a soul, other than to give a lunch order, for a whole 12 hours. I'm giddy at the thought of it so a trip to the quarantine lodge is absolutely my bag. I'll bring the gin making kit I got for Christmas so we can set up.our own still.

Today is certainly an ideal quarantine day. I got up to put a roast chicken in the oven and DH told me to go back to bed. I'm hoping pancakes may appear shortly. It's very cosy here as I have fluffy socks on, a fleecy nightie and a hot water bottle and a bedspread over my duvet.

@SapphireSeptember could you dictate your writing into a text to speech thing? Therefore giving you more time to Do Fuck All In Approved Quarantine Thread fashion?

a dressing gown. It has a hood.

@WeBuiltCisCityOnSexistRoles That is an excellent idea. I've also got past the horrible bit of my story now and it's all the nice stuff, so it shouldn't be too offensive to everyone else.

I love the idea of The Chalet School San quarantine. Can I come too? I want crisp white sheets, fresh mountain air and amazing views. Hot buttered crumpets, hot chocolate and amazing stews all prepared by someone else. Plus a bed and a room to myself for the kind of sleep I can only dream of. After a week or two I might make it outside for a wander in the fresh air as I'm sure they considered that to be the best medicine

I think you can only be allowed into the San if you are frail (or possibly delicate) unless you have had a foolish accident through girlish high jinks and need to recover? This may involve lying flat for a number of weeks I'm afraid, muddled before you are allowed out into the bracing mountain air.

Lying flat for a couple of weeks actually sounds very attractive to me right now. Maybe we could have Quarantine Weeks as well as days, for the most serious I WantTo Tell Everyone To Fuck Off frail cases?

I think I'd like a steamer chair under a shady tree, just to sit on to admire the views muddled. I would have a tray of tea served out there, just to keep my strength up. If (and ONLY if) I welcomed a chat I would have extra cups laid out as a signal.

Oh I am a girl still in my head. That's the problem. My 12 year old self is still in there, judging all the grownups.

Can there be kittens? I think what ails me might be dispelled by spending time with kittens.

Nice healthy cocktails like cosmopolitans at 5, I think - all that cranberry and lime will doubtless aid recovery. Vitamin C and all that.
