Who wants to join me in quarantine? (Lighthearted)

Such is the sheer amount of fuckwittery around at the moment, I find myself envious of people being quarantined.

Crisp sheets, peace and quiet, possible internet detox. What's not to like? (Assuming you don't get ill of course).

Anyone joining me?

(Or am I getting quarantine mixed up with a spa break?)

I think it's open ended. We've got a vast pantry and wine cellar here, and the mobile library comes every other day.

Is that 40 days and 40 nights, or longer?

Thinking of the Bible, I think we should stay in quarantine until the rain has finally stopped, then send out a dove every so often.

That would explain a LOT Tinsel Grin

Maybe you're like Samson in the Bible?

Ooh, I had my long hair cut off in the autumn and I haven't been right since. Maybe it has had the opposite effect on me?
Perhaps I should go full on shaven head?

I think you are right though Tea, I have outgrown my strength indeed. I think cake might help, probably lemon drizzle. I will test my theory and report back.

Maybe we need to cut TeaAndStrumpets hair off. It helps when you're ill (not sure why).

If that's a bit drastic, maybe a nice blow dry?

Today I discovered a colleague spent Christmas alone in my favourite spa. Can you imagine? #lifegoals

I did venture out for little while but I felt a bit wobbly and came back. It was just too soon.

Hope everyone’s got a cosy bed jacket on today- it’s cold out there

There’s Port Wine jelly and violet tea if that sounds any better Tinsel?

Can I come for a bit please? I can bring a very cute kitten who loves snuggling under the duvet.

I might have to draw the line at Calves Foot Jelly Envy(not envy).

Is that what beef tea is!? 😂

In that case, mmmm yes please to Bovril, or oxo, or I'm guessing marmite in hot water, and a soothing hand on a fevered brow with deep pillows and a sinkable mattress, and a cosy duvet.

I'll do the dishes later. Soon. Inabit.

Or a tin of Oxtail Soup?

(Although it's not my idea of quarantine spa food).

I'm not faffing about making stock, would an Oxo Cube do?

I'm tired and need a(nother) pit stop.

Is beef tea a proper restorative or just romanticised version of something grim? There's enough pretending of wholesomeness on the outside, I've a fevered brow and need tucking in.

Kate is def welcome if she finds us, and Harry could probably do with a cup of tea.

I remember visiting my mother in a Convalescent Home in 1979 which I think you would have all liked.

Funnily enough that was the year I started my nursing training. There was a convalescent home at Hunstanton that we sent patients to.

I wonder if this was it? It looks rather smart.

In books (mainly chalet school) women are told "you must have absolute rest", which is a prolonged enforced nap, I suppose.

I'm always jealous of the women in Call The Midwife who are told to stay in bed after they've given birth.

Enforced Nap must be one of the most beautiful phrases I have ever heard...
