This is taking place at magistrates court, so the (district) judge can either rule or send on to jury trial:
www.judiciary.uk/you-and-the-judiciary/going-to-court/magistrates-court/

I don’t know if these particular charges constitute a summary offence or and either way offence?

The case was scheduled for today and tomorrow, but as far as I know trial length is only a guide?

(When my friend was murdered the trial was expected to last 9 weeks and went on for 13)

Have the reporting restrictions been lifted? The end of this article explains the bad character.

Can't see Maya's update - assume deleted to be on the legal safe side.

Good luck Kate, not that you need it!

The failing liar unblocked me on Twitter to tell me I'd been reported to Twitter and the police for correct sexing. Then blocked me again 10 minutes later. :o

CallofDoodee · 06/02/2020 23:00

Woah Jayne Langley has absolutely nailed it in that letter.

I am in awe of so many of you ladies!

ArranUpsideDown · 06/02/2020 23:01

The Daily Mail piece is interesting.

Redshoeblueshoe · 06/02/2020 23:06

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 06/02/2020 23:24

The Mail says Stephanie Hayden has a string of convictions dating back to 1996, for affray, breaches of community orders, making false representations with a view to gain and attempting to gain property by deception, for which she had received a sentence of imprisonment.

Blimey. Very interesting.

theflushedzebra · 06/02/2020 23:44

Well, I guess we can talk about the Mail article.

Very good news that the bad character evidence against Hayden has been ruled admissible. I think some stuff that Hayden would prefer to keep quiet is going to come out in court.

This could be interesting.

ScapaFlo · 06/02/2020 23:45

I thought The Mail article painted Kate's case in a very bad light? I hope I've misunderstood
