MRA Reddit subreddits r/TheRedPill and r/MGTOW have now been identified as "shocking and offensive" and quarantined and scheduled for deletion!

We should complain to Reddit about r/MensRights and get that one quarantined too.

I'm amazed. Didn't think that would happen in a hundred years. Progress, indeed. Baby steps, maybe, but still progress.

Umyeahnah · 02/02/2020 09:20

Meh just had a quick look at r/MensRghts, and altho I dislike it, I'm against quarantine and or deletion.

GeordieTerf · 02/02/2020 10:34

Be careful. If Reddit start banning subs, then the GC sub will almost certainly be deleted.

nauticant · 02/02/2020 11:00

That was my instinctive reaction too GeordieTerf . I'm more inclined to think in terms of the battle of ideas where, given time, the good ideas drive out the bad ones.

noblegiraffe · 02/02/2020 11:10

Reddit banned the incel sub a couple of years ago so these aren’t the first.

Mossyrock · 02/02/2020 11:47

Yeah I agree GeordieTerf. Let them stand. Sunlight being the best disinfectant and all that.

noblegiraffe · 02/02/2020 12:13

What if sunlight is actually a recruiting tool?

DuLANGMondeFOREVER · 02/02/2020 12:27

What if sunlight is actually a recruiting tool?

Then it will recruit opposition as well as sympathy.

I’m always reminded of Nick Griffin’s Question Time appearance. Pretty much killed the BNP stone dead.

noblegiraffe · 02/02/2020 12:31

Have women’s rights advanced recently? Or have we now got Boris Johnson and Donald Trump in charge?

Floisme · 02/02/2020 12:33

Why do you think Johnson and Trump got to be in charge?

noblegiraffe · 02/02/2020 12:39

Sunlight didn’t seem to do their chances any harm.

While outright racism was deemed to be abhorrent, misogyny isn’t.

noblegiraffe · 02/02/2020 12:40

I was talking about Nick Griffin’s racism. Clearly Johnson and Trump have showed that being racist isn’t a massive issue any more either.

DuLANGMondeFOREVER · 02/02/2020 12:41

Some women voted for Boris because they believed he would be the best option for retaining women’s rights to single sex spaces.

Judging by the newly appointed Minister for Women and Equalities, they were right.

Floisme · 02/02/2020 12:42

Do you think people who voted for Brexit were allowed sunlight?
Or were they labelled thick and racist?

nauticant · 02/02/2020 12:49

The problem with prohibiting sunlight is one day you wake up and it's 24 June 2016.

noblegiraffe · 02/02/2020 12:53

Some women voted for Boris because they believed he would be the best option for retaining women’s rights to single sex spaces.

Let’s hope that the people who voted for the Face-Eating Leopard Party aren’t too surprised when the leopards eat their faces.

Floisme · 02/02/2020 12:57

Exactly. And even then the remain camp (and to my everlasting shame I was one of them) chose to smear and obstruct rather than to listen and talk.
Which, in my opinion, is what led to waking up on 13th December 2019.

noblegiraffe · 02/02/2020 12:59

Prohibiting legitimate discussion about immigration is clearly an issue. That doesn’t mean that we should allow sites that actively whip up hatred. What about the Stormfront website (no idea if that’s still going and don’t want to look but it’s a discussion forum for neo-nazis).

DuLANGMondeFOREVER · 02/02/2020 13:01

I agree, Flo.

I voted Remain, but in the following years I’ve engaged with ideas from political commentators such as Paul Embery and have, if not quite revised my opinion, learned lots of stuff that would make it a much harder vote to cast now.

I’m also thoroughly bored of people trotting our memes and cliches about face eating leopards, rather than properly engaging in why people make the calls they do.

Unusualsuspicion · 02/02/2020 13:03

"Let’s hope that the people who voted for the Face-Eating Leopard Party aren’t too surprised when the leopards eat their faces."

Beautifully put! Voting Tory because they are GC is like voting for Nick Griffin because you quite like his take on fisheries policy.

DuLANGMondeFOREVER · 02/02/2020 13:04

Sigh.

AutumnRose1 · 02/02/2020 13:06

I've not actually seen them

Do they incite violence towards women?

Floisme · 02/02/2020 13:06

I think drawing analogies between voting Tory and voting BNP are another reason why we have Prime Minister Johnson.

DuLANGMondeFOREVER · 02/02/2020 13:10

The Red Pill is mostly dating strategy for men who don’t actually like women, it’s where all the ‘chad’ and Becky/Stacy lingo comes from.

They say women ‘ride the cock carousel’ until they get too old (Aka ‘hit the wall’) and have to settle for a ‘beta male’:

I used to lurk it a bit, helped me enormously with avoiding asshats and PUA last time I was single.

GCAcademic · 02/02/2020 13:11

That statement there sums up exactly where the left has gone wrong. Carry on like that and Labour will be out of power for a generation.
