To be fair, they had a camera in their face so were probably afraid to say anything that might be considered inflammatory. I probably wouldn't give my honest opinion either.

midclegs · 29/01/2020 10:37

All of this is making me feel constantly sick. I think I'd quote the Oxford Dictionary though. Maybe have a concise pocket version with me at all times..

Kit19 · 29/01/2020 10:40

But that’s exactly the thing isn’t it @nevermorelenore women feeling too intimidated to be able to say what a women Is in the 21st. How the he’ll did we get here

I'm actually worried the TRAs will go after Oxford Dictionary. Then we are screwed.

Justhadathought · 29/01/2020 10:46

The woman in the pink hat was trying so hard.......but just couldn't be brought to lie and give the correct answer. Jeesus! Mental.

OncewasLangandClegtwo · 29/01/2020 10:52

Was that the march that Caitlyn Jenner was a speaker?

ScrimshawTheSecond · 29/01/2020 10:54

Ah, dear.

Thelnebriati · 29/01/2020 11:03

Look at their body language as well, they all look away, they shake their heads when they talk.

theflushedzebra · 29/01/2020 11:03

I don't know whether to laugh or cry tbh .

Women's March was the one where Munroe Bergdorf dictated from on high that women weren't to centre the march on female biology. And now nobody feels able to say what a woman is on the Women's March. They bloody well know exactly what the answer to this question is - they just can't say it.

This is exactly what we said would happen. Women unable to define themselves as a group distinct from males.

ZuttZeVootEeeVro · 29/01/2020 11:04

If these women believe that woman is only an identity, what issues are they matching for?

If these women are marching about womens rights, yet feel unable to actually define what a women is, aren't they just sending a message that they can be intimidated into agreeing with anything?

I think that they are just marching for marchings sake and not wanting to achieve anything.

TheShoesa · 29/01/2020 11:08

They know, but are afraid to say.

What a sorry state of affairs.

Uncompromisingwoman · 29/01/2020 11:28

Their anxiety and fear was palpable. It really highlights the intimidatory nature of an ideology that forces women to lie about a straightforward scientific fact. And this is why the toxic lobby groups are all over our schools - to ensure that our children are groomed early into denying reality.
Who benefits from this? It's not women.

andyoldlabour · 29/01/2020 11:32

That was pretty sad, which made me wonder how much was edited out. I cannot believe that not one woman was prepared to speak some sense.
Pretty sure that was a contrived video.

CoffeeCoinneseur · 29/01/2020 11:33

I don’t understand why they were even there, taking part, if they are unable or unwilling to define what a woman is Confused

andyoldlabour · 29/01/2020 11:38

One of the twitter feed replies:

"so, they went on a march for a word they can't describe"

Thelnebriati · 29/01/2020 11:38

I think we need to remind people ''put your own oxygen mask on first before you try to help others'', and revive assertiveness training classes.

Mossyrock · 29/01/2020 11:57

Those women did not come across as spontaneous and relaxed.

"A woman is love and strength and power" Really?? Is that what came to mind first? Are the nasty, weak and powerless therefore men?

TheShoesa · 29/01/2020 12:00

I recognise the the guy with the microphone from

Looks like it's gone from 'be kind' to 'I'm afraid to speak the truth' in 3 years.

This. X 1000. With bells.

And yeah the woman is only a bunch of positive things angers me so much! Women and girls can feel weak and bad and dirty and powerless etc. Especially those who have experienced abuse.

theflushedzebra · 29/01/2020 12:18

"so, they went on a march for a word they can't describe"

In a nutshell.

ThinEndoftheWedge · 29/01/2020 12:19

How do you define a woman? - Adult human female

Can anyone be one? No by definition it only covers adult human females.

I agree they know - they feel they can’t say it.

This is why this and other GC spaces are important. We need to remind people, family and friends to trust what they already know.

BiologyIsReal · 29/01/2020 12:27

Do they believe that or are they just "'frit"?

It may seem harsh but I am beginning to get tired of the attitude that results in normal everyday women (you know, adult human females) bowing and scraping to tiresome little woke pipsqueaks and their airy fairy notions of self ID.

This is how dictatorships by minorities happen.

“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”

Sooner or later everyday women are going to have to stand up.

We could really do with a good dose of second wave feminism here.

I am so disappointed in my so-called "sisters". I am beginning to feel all our struggles of the 60s and 70s that I gave my heart and soul to and which won us so much, is being thrown away and if we let it happen we will deserve the consequences.

Sorry for the old lady rant, but for God's sake women get a bloody grip.

Flame me if you like.

Mockers2020Vision · 29/01/2020 12:30

How to define a woman
There's a way, said the wise old man

ZuttZeVootEeeVro · 29/01/2020 12:32

That was pretty sad, which made me wonder how much was edited out.

I'd like to think a whole load of sensible responses were edited out.
