Obviously Mother Nature is transphobic -t’is in the name after all. Biggest transphobe out there.

I think it’s important for people who are in the public eye who don’t conform to gender stereotypes to come forward and make it clear they are not opting out of their sex. Eighties pop culture was full of people ‘gender -bending’ and exploring their sexuality/coming out and I think it’s a sorry state of affairs that there is a subset of people who want to push people back into those boxes- a man who doesn’t fit traditional male stereotypes and fancies other men must be a woman obvs! How did we get here??

I know BG has a chequered past in regards to DV (and Ive posted about that myself) but that isn’t what’s at play here, what’s relevant is a gay icon sticking to his guns and saying he is who is - a gay man. And I have to support that.

I wonder if a lot of this would have been stopped in its tracks (or at least slowed down a bit) if more people had the courage to say "this is so stupid it doesn't warrant a response". I like that it's happening now though. Reminds me of JKR 'declining' to meet with GLAAD for 're-education'. You could practically hear the foot stamping.

I wonder how much of this shit is due to centuries of gender stereotyping and conforming. And now that people have more freedom socially than before they feel that, 'well I'm not traditionally feminine so I must be a boy inside' , 'I like to play with Barbies and bake cakes I must be a girl really, ' rather than I'm a boy who likes Barbies.

Maybe all this bullshit was inevitable and it'll burn itself out with the eventual realisation that thousands of adults and children have been chemically and physically maimed in the pursuit of a false ideology that was never really an thing'.

It's simple. Whether someone is transphobic is more about who someone is than what they say or do. In effect, the question is "Are you one of us or one of them?"

Since phobias are a mental health issue, shouldn't those accused of transphobia be protected, their anxieties supported and all measures taken throughout society to understand their perspective and remove distress and triggers from anyone suffering from it?

Marilyn was also accused of being transphobic last year after a twitter comment that there are only 2 sexes

When I first joined Twitter Boy George followed me. He criticised the ridiculousness of pronouns.

Last year though there was a mini Twitter bust up (can't recall what) where he had a go at feminists and defended TRAs.

Good to read he's seing sense again. And how refreshing to be able to use 'he' in these times of madness.

BG has been openly non gender conforming since he shot to fame, without demanding the use of certain pronouns or refusing to recognise his biology.
