12 year old to start puberty blockers

I feel like with things like this, there always is

I felt that when I read that Ash is being home-schooled.
Now, before anybody jumps on me, I'm all in favour of parents homeschooling - for lots of children it really is the best way. However, in America, there are thousands of fundamentalist Christian parents who homeschool purely to stop their children from encountering different ideas. And I think this mother is doing the same thing - keeping Ash enclosed in a tight little social bubble that only includes other transgender families along with trans- and trans-affirming adults, and nobody who will tell her the truth about puberty-blockers, about why a womb transplant is a fantasy, that she'll be completely infertile and ill probably develop horrendous health problems.

It's a bubble that Ash will find it almost impossible to break out of.
It's frustrating not to be told more about the family. For instance, where's the father? Are the other seven kids also homeschooled? And why is nobody asking why a school suddenly has so many transgender children?

My youngest is two and he has no idea which body parts are "privates" and which are not. I don't think he has noticed that my parts are different from his. He certainly has no idea that one day his parts will change and how; he does not think about such things. He thinks of trains and push prams and christmas trees and Duplo blocks and balloons.
