I’ve seen this. Just unreal. How is this happening in the 21st century

Waterandlemonjuice · 29/11/2019 11:48

Omg that’s awful. What is the MATTER with these people?

doadeer · 29/11/2019 11:50

Pure madness. They wouldn't have even suggested this in the middle ages!

So doctors will have to choose between saving women's lives and going to prison? Nice.

This is horrific. How can people be so inhumane? Murder charge for something that isn't even feasible in medical science?!

SayNotoArtificialLipids · 29/11/2019 11:57

Scary stuff, cannot believe what I have just read.

katmarie · 29/11/2019 11:59

Utter insanity. I really feel for the women of America having to deal with this level of batshittery.

BarbaraStrozzi · 29/11/2019 12:02

They are certifiably bonkers.

Has the bill any realistic chance of passing, or is it intended as a time wasting distraction to divert attention while they unleash something else heinous under the radar?

SidJS · 29/11/2019 12:05

Pro life m my arse

Inebriati · 29/11/2019 12:08

The difference between the US and UK attitude to ectopic pregnancy is stark, this information reads like it was written by people who care about women;

www.rcog.org.uk/en/news/revised-guideline-aims-to-prevent-women-dying-from-ectopic-pregnancies/

www.aims.org.uk/journal/item/ectopic-pregnancy-the-facts

SarahTancredi · 29/11/2019 12:33

Wtaf

So in cases where there are twins and one has implanted outside the uterus while the other one is inside the uterus , they would risk aborting the one that actually had a chance to avoid jail for the one that didnt?

They plan on.further unnecessary procedures/surgery with zero hope on a woman who could also be dying?

The hate and wish to punish women is very very clear

Cohle · 29/11/2019 12:34

It's such an obvious attempt to force a Supreme Court challenge. The people passing these laws must be staggeringly poorly informed about obstetrics.

OnlyTheTitOfTheIceberg · 29/11/2019 12:42

I think it's just another attempt to force an overall challenge to Roe v Wade. There seems to be no end to the batshittery that they can come up with in their work towards that aim.

packingsoapandwater · 29/11/2019 12:43

This is some batshit desire to return to a pre-obstetrics world.

What the proposed law really means is that a woman with an ectopic pregnancy would be unable to seek any medical help to prevent her own injury or death. They want women to die in pregnancy and childbirth because in their batshit heads, this is "God's way" and "natural".

NonnyMouse1337 · 29/11/2019 12:44

You're right, OnlyTheTitOfTheIceberg, it's about forcing an overall challenge to Roe v Wade at the Supreme court.

ScrimshawTheSecond · 29/11/2019 12:49

Absolute lunacy. And completely terrifying.

SpamChaudFroid · 29/11/2019 12:53

I'm approaching 50 and I've never been afraid for women like I am now. Has it got worse, or is it just me noticing it more because I'm older?

Redcrayons · 29/11/2019 12:57

Did they take any medical advice, that this is impossible?

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 29/11/2019 13:01

How many women will have to die before they realise how batshit they are?

Women would be scared to go to the doctors with any problems in fear of going to prison for having an unviable pregnancy.

MoltenLasagne · 29/11/2019 13:02

They don't care that this is medically impossible and they definitely don't care that this will result in the deaths of women.

These people care nothing about facts, they're part of the same group of zealots who believe that women can't get pregnant from rape because "the female body has ways of shutting it down".

GCAcademic · 29/11/2019 13:11

No, it's not just you. On a selfish note, I'm actually bloody glad that I'm no longer young, and that I don't have any female children.

SpamChaudFroid · 29/11/2019 13:20

We're heading back to the belief that inside each sperm there is a tiny yet perfectly formed man and green sickness.

SpamChaudFroid · 29/11/2019 13:26

I feel just the same about that too. It would probably drive me over the edge tbf. I can understand why there was a thread recently by somebody hoping her daughters would be homosexual.

https://drgeoffnutrition.wordpress.com/2017/11/28/j-malcolm-pearce-obstetrician-whose-faked-research-ended-two-careers/

The curious case of the well respected UK obstetrician who faked just this procedure and was quickly found out and struck off.

It's an impossible procedure.

What drives me nuts about this is that people (including women) who support it are so ignorant. They think it won't affect them because they'll go to their expensive out of state obstetrician. If a bill like this is passed then no right minded obstetrician/gynaecologist will want to work in the state, if they are not able to give the accepted treatment and keep their patients safe. So it will affect all women as there will be no decent ob/gyn service. And however rich you are, when an emergency happens you will get who is available to treat you. Angry
