Only consenting to receiving medical treatment from a female is not acceptable

One NHS trust says it’s unacceptable for women to say they only consent to medical treatment from “natal females”. I find this completely outrageous and couldn’t find a thread on it already. Bloody hell!

Do you see many adverts for feminism????

Michelleoftheresistance · 25/11/2019 20:20

If someone asks for orange juice because they're allergic to coffee and you go "YEAH! Slipped you coffee over and over, against your will and against your preference, FOOLED YOU! And you NEVER NOTICED!"

….. honestly, what kind of a person does that make you?

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 25/11/2019 20:21

This has all the makings of a classic thread. I'm delighted to see where the progression of analogies goes next!

Transubstantiating OJ Grin

Eggnog OJ for our American friends for the holidays. Delicious!

(boak)

LangCleg · 25/11/2019 20:23

But sweeping transgender mtf into it is saying you don’t accept transgender mtf as women.

Congratulations on getting one thing right amidst all the nonsense appeals to female socialisation and other assorted hogwash.

Nobody on this thread gives a flying fuck that you don't give a flying fuck about the sex of the person shoving a speculum up your fanny. Women on this thread give a flying fuck about women who do care - for any reason they fucking well choose.

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 25/11/2019 20:24

Isn't eggnog alcoholic?

LangCleg · 25/11/2019 20:24

Oh bums. We're on egg nog not getting an arse on. Sorry - opened thread, got distracted, came back, failed to refresh before posting.

I'll get my chocolate vodka from the other thread!

Siameasy · 25/11/2019 20:24

You’ve been given coffee instead of orange juice more than you’ll ever know

You sound rather pleased about this! It’s not the case though. Women can tell if someone is male. Men on the other hand, in my experience, are rubbish at telling

Someone who would deliberately deceive women doesn't seem like someone who is really cut out for a caring profession, really.

stillathing · 25/11/2019 20:28

You go in for the mammogram and the tech is already stood there? You’re undergoing this already agreed painful procedure and you’re watching how the tech’s hips join her body.

You go in with your eyes closed?!

You know how when you go down a flight of stairs, your body just does it, without slow step by step deliberation? Well mine does anyway. Because I've done it so many times before and I'm lucky enough to be healthy. It's like that. Almost out of my awareness. Until there's an irregularity - like a missing step - that wakes me up and makes me pay attention.

And actually in a smear /mammogram scenario I will be hypervigilant to any irregularity. That's the joy of ptsd.

I guess you don't have the same experience. That's ok.

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 25/11/2019 20:30

Yes quite.

Imagine being the person who goes home and tells their loved ones what a good day they had - "yeah I had 5 different patients all requested a same sex female hcp but I managed to get in there and trick them! What larks! Well I think one or two realised but I managed to intimidate them into keeping their gobs shut and I didn't even need to call anyone a bigot! Pass the salt please?"

ShesDressedInBlackAgain · 25/11/2019 20:30

Total fucking straw man btw this, 'you're going to make me see a woman! Even if I don't want one! Even if she's not the best qualified! That's your game!'

You can't be stupid enough to think that. So It's being deliberately obtuse. And why would someone do that?

BadgertheBodger · 25/11/2019 20:30

Jesus this thread just keeps on giving doesn’t it!

To whichever of our persistent useful eejits said in a wide-eyed fashion, gasp but that means you’re not accepting MTF transgender people as female/does that mean you only accept born females as real females - YES! It is exactly that. Transgender people who were born male but identify as female are STILL male. That’s why poster after poster on this thread has tried to tell you why she is uncomfortable with the NHS policy being discussed in the thread.

To the posters who are upset because they perceive we are somehow restricting their rights to choose whoever they like for treatment by asking for the current status quo to be maintained

Yeah we’re not. Cool DARVO though.

ShesDressedInBlackAgain · 25/11/2019 20:34

No, honestly, everyone knows men from women. At a distance, up close, sitting, walking. My kids have since they were preverbal. It's not a PTSD thing, it's a 'being a human being' thing.

And Flowers

ShesDressedInBlackAgain · 25/11/2019 20:36

I know. I don't think Bunny has read widely on FWR.

MIdgebabe · 25/11/2019 20:36

Isn't it about equal rights, not just our rights?

Well yes and no. There is no reason why anyone should fight for other rights that don't affect them

But actually in this case I am perfectly happy to fight for the exact same sex based rights for trans people as for everyone else. Any transwomen or man should be entitled to say if they are not comfortable with their HCP. Any transperson should be entitled to have an HCP of the same sex as themselves. Sex based rights for all, irrespective of gender identity , race, disability, age or anything else

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 25/11/2019 20:37

To the posters who are upset because they perceive we are somehow restricting their rights to choose whoever they like for treatment by asking for the current status quo to be maintained

This put me in mind of this part of the very detailed blog by Jane Clare Jones recently (not about the nhs but the point is the same):

All that the Labour Party did yesterday was reaffirm its commitment to upholding our existing rights as given in law. And the consequence of a political party affirming its commitment to our existing rights in law is an enormous amount of screaming, obfuscation and witch-burning bullshit. What this demonstrates decisively – what this clearly unconceals – is that the objectives of the present form of the trans rights movement is the removal of our existing legal rights. We already knew this of course. We have long known that representatives of the trans rights movement made explicit recommendations to the governmentt that the single-sex exemptions be removed from the Equality Act.^

"What if you were Helen Keller, right? And you didn't notice the size or shape of the hands when the person touched you, and also you had no sense of smell. And also someone had spiked your coffee with acid laced OJ."

StrangeLookingParasite · 25/11/2019 20:44

Are we saying born ‘female’ is ‘real female’ and anything otherwise is not ‘real’?

Yep. Glad you could join us.

What about hermaphroditism, where the whole genome has become intertwined?

You really don't know a damned thing about disorders of sexual development, do you?

And this,
You’ve been given coffee instead of orange juice more than you’ll ever know,

coughbullshitcough

ShesDressedInBlackAgain · 25/11/2019 20:46

You fucking got me there kittens, you're right.

Dangerfloof · 25/11/2019 20:47

Anyway as somebody said earlier, what shall we do about this?
Hows about we all do the same letter, and send it to our gp/hospital/whoever needs to know. If millions do it, it will have more impact.

stillathing · 25/11/2019 20:47

I drank most of a cup of tea thinking it was horrible but not able to say exactly why. Turned out it was made in an unwashed coffee cup.

Before anybody gets upset I'm not coffeephobic, some of my best drinks have been coffee etc. I think I've just got really unrefined taste buds.

bd67th · 25/11/2019 20:51

hermaphroditism, where the whole genome has become intertwined?

You know nothing about genetics, do you? Where's @bowlofbabelfish when you need her?
