Is that an opinion piece or an actual article?

Birdsfoottrefoil · 20/11/2019 23:53

Neither. It is campaign material.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 20/11/2019 23:57

We already knew this, TRAs have stated that this is how they achieved the results so far.

Unfortunately it turns out that they can't avoid what they say in court being noticed.

ErrolTheDragon · 21/11/2019 00:33

I hope the mainstream media pick up on that, and its implications.

NonnyMouse1337 · 21/11/2019 04:52

Good find. Mainstream media really needs to shine a spotlight on this for some delicious irony.

On another note - There's still a long fight ahead, but you know what? I'm immensely proud of feminists in the UK. It is mainly through their bravery and efforts that a lot of the TRA tactics have been exposed in the media here.
They really thought women in the UK would roll over and let them through. That it would be a walk in the park. UK feminists have been such a thorn in the side of the trans juggernaut.
Stubborn and bolshy. What an inspiration! Much respect to all the women involved for their tireless work. The vanguard for women's rights is in good hands.

Ok I'll stop gushing now.....

AnyOldPrion · 21/11/2019 05:40

Saw this material on Twitter. Chilling to read their tactics all written down.

I'm immensely proud of feminists in the UK. It is mainly through their bravery and efforts that a lot of the TRA tactics have been exposed in the media here.

Yes, yes, yes!

I have the feeling that what’s happening in the U.K. is going to be pivotal round the world.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 21/11/2019 05:51

If the UK swings back towards reality other countries will follow. I think American TRAs in particular really didn't expect resistance to come from the UK - they mistook good manners for submissiveness, and were then very shocked when they pushed British women far enough for us to not care about being polite any more.

ResistSexism · 21/11/2019 06:21

There has been some strong resistance in the US. It's a more difficult system to crack once it falls.

I'm proud of UK women's rights campaigners too. And of MN for resisting the bullies to a great extent and allowing discussion. This issue would never have crossed my path otherwise

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 21/11/2019 06:27

I think if the UK changes course that will give a lot of ammunition to GC women in the US and in Canada, which is much more thoroughly captured and needs all the help it can get.

NonnyMouse1337 · 21/11/2019 06:32

It's a more difficult system to crack once it falls.

Absolutely! There's a lot of good work going on in the US, Canada etc but as you say, it's much harder once the system has capitulated to the trans agenda. Which makes the UK resistance all the more impressive. We're not out of the woods yet, but I hope the UK can shine a light out of this mess that other countries can follow.

FannyCann · 21/11/2019 06:40

Great post @NonnyMouse1337

MsMcWibble · 21/11/2019 09:36

I knew they were doing this, we all did here I think. Absolutely amazed to have it spelled out like this though.
What kind of civil rights movement has to sneak in the changes they want. Also, why? What is really behind this? The amount of money and resources being chucked at this are totally disproportionate. There are many injustices in the world that don't result in this kind of social pressure.
This is so extremely sinister.

BeardedVulture · 21/11/2019 10:44

Christine Burns said they basically got the 2004 Gender Recognition Act in under the radar.

Inebriati · 21/11/2019 11:20

I knew they were doing this, we all did here I think.
Yes, and we've all seen posts on social media calling us paranoid.

MsMcWibble · 21/11/2019 11:57

Kind of undermines the grass-rootiness of their claims. This is being pushed, top down, onto women and girls.

Sunkisses · 21/11/2019 12:20

Yes, it's great to see the TAs PR strategy laid out. Basically if you want to get mental, controversial laws through, don't talk to the media and attract any attention.

Also, the rest of their political / media strategy was laid out too:

  1. Target youth politicians
  2. De-medicalise gender recognition laws
  3. Use case studies of real people
  4. Anonymise the narratives
  5. Get ahead of the government agenda and the media story
  6. Use human rights [laws] as a campaign point
  7. Tie your campaign to more popular reform [this blatant manipulation is really fascinating. They describe tieing self-ID to marriage equality in Ireland as "a veil of protection"]
  8. Avoid excessive press coverage and exposure
  9. Carpe diem
10. Work together 11. Be wary of compromise [they say that it was a mistake to compromise on 'trans'youth' in Ireland to get self-ID passed]
Sunkisses · 21/11/2019 12:21

Just in case it gets missed in the above long post... The TAs in this report blatantly admit that tying self-ID to marriage equality in Ireland was "a veil of protection"!

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 21/11/2019 13:05

There's a magnificent comment under the article:

So much wrong with this piece of propaganda which is advising activists to avoid public scrutiny of changes affecting all of society.

Firstly children with disorders of sexual development (colloquially known as ‘intersex’) is distinct from transgender.

"Children are being put on harmful ‘puberty blockers’ from 12. These drugs are not licensed for this use and have been shown to lower IQ, prevent maturation of the brain, prevent the normal increase in bone density associated with adolescence, increase risk of self harm, and isolate children from their peers who are going through puberty,. They also ‘lock’ children into the path to cross-sex hormones (nearly 100% of children taking puberty blockers go onto cross sex hormones) resulting in sterility and life of medical treatment. In contrast, 80-90% of children with gender dysphoria pre-teen will accept their sex after puberty. These drugs are being given as an unreported experiment and the Health Research Agency recently stated that patients must NOT be told that they just provide a ‘pause’.*

‘Terf’ Is a term of hatred directed principally at women who are worried about the implications of self id: implications like male prisoners convicted of sex assault being locked up with women in women’s prisons where they have raped and assaulted women (this has happened in many countries including the UK), males entering women’s sports despite the advantages of the male body (advantages that are proven to remain regardless of hormone treatment); that self ID allows ANY man to enter female changing facilities and prohibits women and girls from objecting.

‘Terf’ has been used repeatedly in slogans such as ‘punch a terf’ ‘Die Terf scum’. Www.terfisaslur.com will give you a flavour or the hatred and bile instilled in that term. Women meeting to discuss women’s rights are being hounded, threatened (even Millwall FC couldn’t stomach the level of threats made to them when they were booked by a women’s group).

There are currently two court cases in progress. One where a woman was sacked for discussing women’s rights outside work. And another, a judicial review, against the college of policing because of guidelines cooked up in shady backrooms of the kind this article is advocating,.

Stonewall and other campaign groups are training up all sorts of organisations, conveniently missing ‘sex’ off the list of protected characteristics in the Equality Act 2010, replacing it with ‘gender identity’ and telling them to ignore single-sex exemptions.

Shame on you for promoting these underhand tactics!

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 21/11/2019 13:06

Bold fail on the third para. Sorry.

stumbledin · 21/11/2019 13:50

I started a thread on this yesterday with the links to the actual report that this press piece is about. It was only a few hours before this was so not sure how it could have been missed.

Would have been nice to have kept the converstaion together!

See www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3748893-Trans-activist-advised-not-to-seek-media-publicity-but-quietly-infiltrate-youth-groups

wacademia · 21/11/2019 14:00

The ideology is really pushed hard in schools and universities. The strategy is to quietly capture the youth and wait for the older people to die off. It's why they are so rattled by young detransitioners like Charlie Evans.

RuffleCrow · 21/11/2019 14:05

Horse. Stable door. We know all their tactics and all their moves and we're watching them at every level of public life. They want to go back to a magical point in time around 2013 when nobody knew what they were up to and they were able to engage unchecked in grooming and reglation capture. Sorry, TRAs, the Tardis is fictional. Grin

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 21/11/2019 14:08

I mean, the whole thing is an admission of the fact that they are entirely aware that if the public had the opportunity to decide whether or not we were OK with these changes the answer would be a clear and resounding no. And that they've decided that they're going to force the changes anyway.

Which, hey, that Maya Angelou quote sure does come in handy.

wacademia · 21/11/2019 14:27

"The way to right wrongs is to shine the light of truth on them" said Ida B. Wells, so clearly these campaigners aren't righting wrongs. They'd welcome publicity if they were.

So what are they doing?
