Fresh thread in case part 2 fills up overnight.
I am yet to receive a reply to my third email, have been furiously tweeting, and as am now pursuing the options available to me as a shareholder.
Still crossing fingers for John Lewis!

@YourOpinionIsNoted That was my understanding too and ditto, I'll be consciously choosing to support them now.

HepzibahGreen · 13/11/2019 14:13

I like their Frost French swimwear too actually.

Akire · 13/11/2019 14:13

Not been for a good while but Debenhams have lots of smaller areas don’t they. So Evans or Dorthy Perkins, principles etc have their Own little corner. I wonder if their rooms are different from main store policy ?

Mummyoflittledragon · 13/11/2019 14:19

I thought it was established on the last thread that Debenhams are allowing men in the women’s. The thread linked is January of this year.

HepzibahGreen · 13/11/2019 15:37

I was going by the email a pp had. Maybe they have realised which side their bread is buttered?

YourOpinionIsNoted · 13/11/2019 15:52

Maybe they have realised which side their bread is buttered?

Wouldn't that be amazing?!

BouquetOfRoses · 13/11/2019 15:56

I'm also confused by the gussets being unstitched issue? Does this mean some retailers are selling women's pants that open at the front? I've never seen this

Mummyoflittledragon · 13/11/2019 16:03

Bouquet
Look at the inside of your knickers. The gusset is the extra piece of soft fabric sewn on the inside in between your legs.

On some knickers this is seen in on all 4 sides. On other knickers, it is open toward the front. This is the opening we are referring to.

BouquetOfRoses · 13/11/2019 17:12

Thanks LittleDragon. I was picturing something like y-front. So are people thinking this is to make it more comfortable for men? If so I've just peak-transed yet again......

MamaToTheBabyBears · 13/11/2019 17:45

Maybe they have realised which side their bread is buttered?

I can only presume so! They've certainly changed their tune compared to thread linked.

Redshoeblueshoe · 13/11/2019 18:40

I know that no one on here would want to waste any ones time, but my local Marks Suspenders have several vacancies for Christmas temps.
Although I have plenty of free time and I live very near a large M&S

jenthelibrarian · 13/11/2019 18:50

Every so often I get M&S questionnaires via email, somehow I've got myself onto some sort of customer panel.
They send a load of pics of products and you have to rate them.
There is always a space for your own comments.
Would it be very bad of me to copy/paste the form letter into them?
There might not be room for the whole thing, and I might just be irritating some marketing company....

Datun · 13/11/2019 18:55

Thanks PocketDictionary. All very weird.

PocketDictionary · 13/11/2019 19:57

Yes it was an eye-opening episode from big brother with the drag artist that educated me.

Scarscar · 13/11/2019 22:09

Is there a thread somewhere to help find M&S alternatives? I've searched but I can't find one, and am in need of some new thermal base layers. Damn straight I won't be buying them from M&S anymore.

Akire · 13/11/2019 22:10

Not yet I don’t think. Feel free to start one!

Redshoeblueshoe · 13/11/2019 22:15

Aldi have some thermal base layers in at the moment

VinandVigour · 13/11/2019 22:16

scar Helly Hanson is your friend. They came highly recommended for my daughters DofE gold, they are supremely light but hard wearing, and very warm.

She has had them for many years now, and they still look great.

artisanparsnips · 13/11/2019 22:18

@Scarscar Uniqlo heat tech are my favourite, they come in warm and Very Warm Indeed, whole range of options and colours.

SeaRabbit · 13/11/2019 22:23

M&S made the mistake of asking me how well I felt my criticism had been dealt with. I have given them 0/10, 0/10 and both barrels about their policy.

Ewww, ewww about Pervy men and knickers.

Scarscar · 13/11/2019 22:29

Thanks for the recommendations, should be able to find something amongst those to keep toasty.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 13/11/2019 22:42

Another vote for Uniqlo's heat tech, better than M& thermals anyway imo since the fit on a lot of M&S stuff is odd and the Uniqlo versions are warmer.

BlackeyedSusan · 13/11/2019 23:17

aldi do thermals but only once per year so not much good if you have missed them.

BlackeyedSusan · 13/11/2019 23:18

I get the mens thermals as they come higher up the waiste and the tops come lower down the body so less of a chance of getting a freezing midriff.

Scarscar · 13/11/2019 23:35

I've always gone to Marks for my thermals out of habit, like people do for knickers. Helly Hansen and Uniqlo look like better products to be fair.
Buying men's is a good idea although I feel there's some sort of irony there.
