I've never started a thread like this before, but this is bothering me.

No comments. Just letting the pictures speak.

Spot the transwoman.

How is this fair?

@Iggly I actually had that conversation with my DS (he's 17) this week, he has a friend who is trans (m-f) and we were saying how ridiculous it is in a world where gender stereotypes are being challenged it seems trans people are more than happy to tick those boxes. The friend is studying beauty therapy at college, grown their hair etc and very much complying with the standard beauty therapist look (not meaning to offend beauty therapists, but there is "a look" amongst the profession)

waltzingparrot · 24/10/2019 00:07

I think women are going to have to walk away from the start lines for a while to make the point, in all sports, across the globe. Leave the one or two trans competitors to their own race.

RosesAndLilies · 24/10/2019 00:16

It's so frustrating that female athletes need to put up with this. They should be protected - both for safety in some sports & so it's a fair competition!

If only they would walk away,
if only

They don't because...
*They have probably been told they will be disqualified.
*The have probably been told to shut up and stay quiet.
*Their female socialisation ensures they comply.

And in future events?
Females will self exclude themselves.

All those watching should cheer loudly for the women then turn their backs as a protest.

Another of Hannah Mouncey, who at one stage broke a woman's thigh bone, the largest bone in the body.

It’s like an episode of the Goodies circa 1975.

I think there needs to be the equivalent of the 'taking the knee' protest.

What would be a suitable gesture? Curtsey to the new overladies?

I agree it's time for spectators to step up - and if they're nervous of protesting in public, all they have to do is not show up. I think empty seats and falling ticket revenues would get the message across pretty quickly.

"8 players of the Iranian women’s football team are trans women."

No, they are not. In 2015 an Iranian football official turned up at training for the women's team and noticed that several players were obviously men. He immediately demanded that they were removed, which they were.
Iran's women's football team has never played in the World Cup, Olympic Games or Asian Cup, and plays hardly any matches.

"Women were banned from playing in stadiums until the 1920’s."

Incorrect, women's matches from 1914 - 1918 were very well attended, attracting crowds of up to 50,000. This was because of WW1, where the FA suspended all men's matches.
Women's football was banned from 1921 to 1971, although women's matches were played.

Some of the woke women will want to train at 4.30 in the morning, they'll think they need to train harder.

They will never, ever be good enough.

Taking self harm to a sinister level.

MockersthefeMANist · 24/10/2019 08:41

Womens football was banned by the FA. That meant they could not play on any FA ground until the ban was lifted in 1971. They played on rugby league grounds, speedway stadiums, dog tracks, and mostly local parks.

Association Football was defined as a male game until 1983, and ten years later the WFA was disbanded and incorporated into the FA.

ErrolTheDragon · 24/10/2019 09:06

It's OT, but it's more shocking that women were banned from FA grounds from 1921, having being popular before then.
I quite often sit in a traffic queue next to a blue plaque celebrating the Dick Kerr Ladies. There are some points to ponder in this story for anyone who is interested.

WomaninBoots · 24/10/2019 09:38

Do you think if women were still banned from playing sports we'd have quite the same enthusiasm from transwomen to be recognised as women for sporting purposes?

WrathofSIxFootSIxElfKlop · 24/10/2019 09:46

Errol, I agree. I'll have a read of that wikipage.

It is the outright banning of women's football matches from 1921.
I wonder how many clubs were disbanded at the time?
And why?

LemonGingerCakes · 24/10/2019 09:57

What did Fanny say?

OP posts:
WrathofSIxFootSIxElfKlop · 24/10/2019 09:59

Just read some of it.
The popularity of the women's team threatened the mens game.
Complaints were made.

The FA decided football wasn't suitable for women.
FA banned the women's game.

Sound familiar?

WrathofSIxFootSIxElfKlop · 24/10/2019 10:07

Oh I didn't see what Fanny wrote.

LemonGingerCakes · 24/10/2019 10:15

😒🙄🙄 There's a surprise.

No worries about the deleted post, I was just curious
