I've never started a thread like this before, but this is bothering me.

No comments. Just letting the pictures speak.

Spot the transwoman.

How is this fair?

Is it just transwomen invading sports? I doubt there are many transmen giving men a run for their money. The whole reason why there are men's and women's sports is that women don't generally have the same muscle mass, height, strength, etc that comes from being exposed to testosterone.

And I agree, it's not just the inherent unfairness and appropriation, it also poses a safety risk to women participants.

NigellaAwesome · 23/10/2019 22:46

X post OP. So a woman who is transitioning still gets to compete as a woman. But men who are transitioning also get to compete as women. So in this equation, the only competitors in women's sports who have not had a testosterone advantage, are women. Confused Hmm

RickOShay · 23/10/2019 22:48

It’s fucking awful.

Yes, it would seem so. I just don’t understand the logic Sad

The expression that wrestler in the helmet is wearing is disgusting and their opponent looks terrified and in pain.

Jojowash · 23/10/2019 22:52

The worlds gone mad

deydododatdodontdeydo · 23/10/2019 22:56

The last one looks terrifying, but if you took a still from any sport like Judo, you would see something like this. This is a woman vs a woman. They are grimacing because they are fighting. Nothing unusual about that.
The others, though....wow.

FannyCann · 23/10/2019 22:57

Drizzle that photo is of Mack Beggs - a trans man, that is female to male, who would like to compete against men but isn't allowed to in his state. So Mack is a woman on testosterone, which is banned for women who aren't trans, and it appears to be giving Mack a significant advantage.

You've missed one of the best ones.

Not quite. Trans female bodied people are not permitted to play sports with men, because they might get injured. However trans male bodied people are permitted to play against females, even if it means smashing their faces in, breaking a team mate’s leg or ‘folding a woman like a deckchair’. You would nearly think that they were misogynistic rules that puts Male bodied people first, at the expense of safety and fairness towards women. Surely not. Hmm

Hollyhobbi · 23/10/2019 23:04

Is it me or is it hard to tell if any of these are women in some of the photos? Are they all on testosterone shots?

EveWasShamed · 23/10/2019 23:05

@Doyoumind are any of those men trans? Doesn’t look like it Confused

OccasionalKite · 23/10/2019 23:05

At nearly 6ft she stands out among her team-mates, and club captain Jessica Minty-Madley recounts a time she folded an opponent "like a deckchair".

That said, Kelly, 33, accepts transgender women may have an advantage in terms of size and strength.

"I do feel guilty, but what can you do?" she says. "I don't go out to hurt anybody. I just want to play rugby."

@EveWasShamed

The one on the left is a particularly outspoken transwoman.

Funny how "becoming" a woman doesn't seem to confer any ladylike behaviours, like sitting with legs arranged daintily. Manspreading just comes so naturally....

NotTerfNorCis · 23/10/2019 23:17

I just spent all afternoon arguing with a 'cis male' TRA on Spinster. He thinks people will eventually get used to men in women's sport. Nasty arrogant POS. Hope he's wrong.

JuneSpoon · 23/10/2019 23:18

Women just don't sit with their legs open like that. Socialisation not to take up space? Socialisation to keep genitals "protected"? Not having sticky out genitals that necessitate man spreading.

All the images are jarring for much more serious reasons but a "woman" manspreading makes me do a double take

Incidentally, OP, if you're still wondering about your photos not showing immediately, I think it's just that text gets uploaded to the MN servers pretty instantaneously, but photos can take a bit longer, and may show up on some platforms later than others.

Fallon Fox is an MMA fighter. After losing to Fox, Tamikka Brents received 7 staples in her head to treat a broken orbital bone.

“I’ve fought a lot of women and have never felt the strength that I felt in a fight as I did that night. I can’t answer whether it’s because she was born a man or not because I’m not a doctor. I can only say, I’ve never felt so overpowered ever in my life and I am an abnormally strong female in my own right,” she stated.

All apart from one contain a man transitioning to become a 'woman'. In one, the woman is transitioning to become a 'man' and is therefore taking testosterone injections, yet still competing with women (although has been said they want the chance to compete with men).
