I've never started a thread like this before, but this is bothering me.

No comments. Just letting the pictures speak.

Spot the transwoman.

How is this fair?

Thanks andyoldlabour I will admit to knowing very little about cricket so I had no context for the ‘old days’. I watch professional sports for sports primarily where I do/did participate and sports women are participating in, (so watched a lot of gymnastics, tennis etc when younger). The long list of sports that largely excluded females when I was younger included cricket.

I got it, Andy, but I'm a sad cricket geek. My dad actually saw Bradman play at the end of his career.

Blythin is a cheat.

Body builder Chris Tina Bruce, the first competitive transgender bodybuilder, 2012.
Worth a watch. They didn't win and it was a very minor competition but paving the way for future MtF transgender competitors, begs the question of what the judging criteria could be, without obliterating female competitors in the future.

Gosh that's hard to watch. The winner is huge in comparison with the girls Sad

If CeCe Telfer was competing against the males, then CeCe would be jumping over much higher hurdles. High school girls 33", high school boys 39". That along with CeCe's other male advantages makes a huge difference.

andyoldlabour · 29/01/2021 12:15

Forgot to post the link for that.

And andy this is a HUGE part of this that people really don't get.

Women's sports have equipment designed for their bodies limitations. When males participate in women's sports, their 'competitiveness' is enhanced so much by the advantages they have combined with the different equipment.

Of course, if you use a hunking great big cricket bat designed for males you are simply going to hit every ball for six when it is bowled slowly enough that you can hit it. particularly in the ball is lighter too.

And of course, women's hurdles are a doddle.

It is so bleeding obvious.

NotBadConsidering · 29/01/2021 12:22

CeCe was in college, not high school. Franklin Pierce, NCAA division 2. Was a senior when this story came out though, so I don’t know what CeCe is up to now.

Thanks for that, I assume that would be NCAA then, which makes it even worse. The women's hurdles stay at 33" and the men's go up to 42".

Athletics weight specifications for throwing implements

Discus - men 2Kg - women 1Kg
Shot - men 7.26Kg - women 4Kg
Javelin - men 800g - women 600g
Hammer - men 7.26Kg - women 4Kg

CaraDuneRedux · 29/01/2021 16:07

Thanks, Andy. I was going to look that up earlier but hadn't got round to it.

IIRC for "throwing" events, men have a 30% advantage over women (compared to about 10% for most running events) according to Ross Tucker's extensive literature survey for World Rugby, and androgen blockers/female hormones given to male athletes make next to no impact on this difference.

Wow the hurdles, look at how the girls are having to jump whilst CeCe barely changes their stride Angry

andyoldlabour · 30/01/2021 12:53

Here are the U18 world athletics records. Look at the difference in records when the weight increases in the throwing events. Imagine a male fast bowler in cricket using the lighter ball against women batters. I think they would be regularly bowling faster than Joffra Archer.

334bu · 03/02/2021 19:57

The most worrying development is that now that women's sports have become lucrative, more and more transwomen are taking women's places in professional teams especially in poorer areas of the world. It is also becoming obvious that some transwomen who had male athletic careers are extending their sporting careers well into their forties competing against women in their teens and twenties. Laura Hubbard being a prime example as well as the Italian Paralympian Valentina see photo above

I’ve been thinking about these discriminatory inclusion policies that have been formed by Stonewall, Gendered Intelligence etc

Are they not subject to the Equality Act in this country? I know nothing about law but surely a sporting organisation can not operate outside the law?
