Police treat a trans woman's rejection for a porn role as a hate crime

Ria Cooper received a text message saying they would be paid to have sex on camera, and Ria agreed to the offer.

The pornographer then said the offer had been cancelled because he found out that Ria has male reproductive organs.

Humberside Police is investigating the incident as a hate crime.

If a transwoman is the victim of a hate crime, is it logged in the statistics as a crime against a woman? Genuine question.

It's a fucking excellent question. I'd love to know the answer.

BoreOfWhabylon · 18/10/2019 21:32

Humberside Police are famously woke though. They do not like Wrongthink

Wonder if @HazzaTheOwl has seen this?

HazzaTheOwl · 18/10/2019 21:38

Yup. We've seen it. Nothing surprises me. This is right up Dumberside's street.

Tyrotoxicity · 18/10/2019 21:40

Just to be contrary, BoreOf - I recently commented to a Humberside police officer that their witness statement paperwork really ought to ask for sex not gender, and was told, "Yes, unfortunately we're a bit old-fashioned in that respect." She made no comment on the prominent Ministry of Truth sticker on my fridge either.

BoreOfWhabylon · 18/10/2019 21:50

Well, that's good to hear Tyrotoxicity. I have no doubt plenty of individual officers feel the same way, but the organisation itself is hopelessly woke.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 18/10/2019 22:09

How can there be a hate crime if there's no crime? I note that the Sun has helpfully included the definition of a hate crime just to drive that point home. British tabloids are after all the OG trolls.

Creepster · 18/10/2019 22:22

How can she have 'transitioned' if she still has all her male organs?
There is a porn category called "shemale" that employs people like Ria Cooper. In the "Teddy" movie they are referred to as Ds with Ts but I can't say that on FWR because of the special rules.

NotYourCisterinAus · 18/10/2019 23:11

On a lighter note, if pornographers are going to be forced to hire transwomen on pain of being charged with a hate crime, surely it will kill the industry stone dead? Because I can't see the average punter wanting to watch the middle-aged AGPs who will be lining up to take the roles. /sarcasm

HazzaTheOwl · 19/10/2019 08:29

Awaywiththepiskies · 19/10/2019 09:36

Well may you ask @Jaxhog

But apparently your question is transphobic because genitals have nothing to do with gender identity.

You’re a bigot for even thinking that question.

—is there a font for sarcasm?—

HazzaTheOwl · 19/10/2019 10:28

This is the problem with Hate Incident reporting. There is no objective test, no filter, nothing to weed out the ludicrous claims. It's all entirely perception based. Which is why removing the College of Policing Guidelines is so important. We're just over a month away to our big showdown in the High Court (20-21 November).

Please, if you can, come along and say Hi.

Completely agree.

Without these guidelines, this person would not have been able to make a (clearly ludicrous) police report which the police would be obliged to log and take seriously, and then they would not have been able to sell this ridiculous piece of clickbait to The Sun.

This has echos of what happened in actual porn. Lesbian performer Lily Cade said no to a transwoman who wished to join in lesbian scenes (as I understand it, Ms Cade only ever does scenes with actual females in them). I believe it caused quite the kerfuffle at the time. Honestly the idea of male people with penises inflicting themselves on lesbians is gross and I am not quite sure how they get away with it as readily as the do.
The prosecutions should be going the other way.

BeyondAvoidant · 19/10/2019 15:30

One wonders if it would be worthwhile to report any crime (or incident!) as a hate crime. Obviously misogyny isn't included, so anyone doing that might have to get a bit more creative...

BeyondAvoidant · 19/10/2019 15:33

Y'know... "my house is being burgled", "yeah we'll be there in a couple of hours maybe", "oh I forgot to mention, I'm being targeted because they believe I belong to x protected group", "sorry - we're on our way!"...

WomanBornNotWorn · 19/10/2019 15:40

Indeed. Ricky is a star.

MockersthefeMANist · 19/10/2019 15:44

The real one was the bloke who reported a burglar in his shed. Police said they didn't have the officers spare. He phoned back, said not to worry, he'd just shot them. Cops were there in minutes.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 19/10/2019 15:44

Will this get to court? I hope so. Anyhoo. Saw a trans woman used in a ‘we support trans’ ad by a tampon company. Posed in a ladies loo with a basked to sanpro. Why not a trans man?

YouJustDoYou · 19/10/2019 15:47

It's discriminating against penis-havers to not want a penis inside you! How DARE anyone say no to someone because they've got a penis! Don't they know how bigoted that is??!

#sarcasm.

It's that male fantasy/belief that their penis is so great, so amazing, so utterly fantastic that shagging a lesbian will convert them (the lesbian)/it's the lust for the idea of shagging a lesbian, all coupled with the male sense of utter entitlement to sex.

Aspley · 19/10/2019 16:14

@YouJustDoYou
Now 100% Stonewall endorsed.

How a formally great charity has fallen to the disgusting idea that the right penis will convert a lesbian is frighting.
They have never condemned the idea that male transwomen wanting to fuck lesbians was even in the least bit problematic, this makes the complicit and homophobic.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 19/10/2019 16:43

From an employment POV, this is interesting. Could this transwoman claim discrimination? Denied the role on account of the adopted gender? If there's a GC then is it possible to turn them down?

Also, this person has previously detransitioned... seems like a vulnerable person who probably shouldn't be accepting porn jobs off random texts.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 19/10/2019 16:44

Oh, sorry, I see that's already been linked. Doh.

Michelleoftheresistance · 19/10/2019 17:01

How much does employment law protect people accepting porn jobs via text?

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 19/10/2019 23:14

So the man who propositioned the complaint should have been compelled to have sex? Even through he may not be into that kind of sex? So what if he ended up with a woman who, say, enjoyed sticking needles into the testicles of her partner - would be have the right to say ‘nooooooo!!!!!’?

Or does a woman have the right to say ‘don’t choke/beat me to death’ oh no silly me.
