Police treat a trans woman's rejection for a porn role as a hate crime

Ria Cooper received a text message saying they would be paid to have sex on camera, and Ria agreed to the offer.

The pornographer then said the offer had been cancelled because he found out that Ria has male reproductive organs.

Humberside Police is investigating the incident as a hate crime.

Obviously a very bad actor.

Is telling someone they can’t act a hate crime now?

thatwouldbeanecumenicalmatter · 18/10/2019 14:42

Transition, detranstition, transition from the age of 15. And this is why kids need to be steered away from beginning 'treatment'.

deydododatdodontdeydo · 18/10/2019 15:01

A spokeswoman for Humberside Police said: "We received a report of a hate incident yesterday, on Wednesday, October 16. The report has been logged and will be investigated."

Between chuckles no doubt. Police are treating it like any reports they receive.
No doubt nothing will come of it.

Durgasarrow · 18/10/2019 15:03

I hope that the police continue to pour more resources into such as these, and that they draw as much attention to is as possible so that we may all be aware of these important issues.

HorseWithNoFucksToGive · 18/10/2019 15:15

The whole of the porn industry is one massive hate crime.

ClosdesMouches · 18/10/2019 15:16

Humberside police again. Can We Are Fair Cop be made aware of this.

OrchidInTheRain · 18/10/2019 15:25

That article says the puberty blockers and hormones caused Ria's depression. But I thought that didn't happen and transitioning made young people really happy? ConfusedHmm

beckyvardy · 18/10/2019 15:27

No amount of acting can turn a penis into a vagina.

Sorry but I identify as a managing director and my work won't give me the job can I report as a hate crime ffs.

MrsTerryPratchett · 18/10/2019 15:31

I'd rather porn makers were sued than newcomer, home-working women.

I'd also assume that women are rejected for porn for all sorts of body-related reasons; too small, too big, whatever. I mean couldn't the porn-maker just say, "your penis is too small" which I assume they regularly have to say to men in porn.

StoatofDisarray · 18/10/2019 15:31

Is sexism a hate crime BTW? A PP listed it alongside racism but I thought sexism wasn't actually a hate crime - have I missed something?

TwatticusFinch · 18/10/2019 15:35

Oh I've just realised from watching the This Morning video in the Hull Daily Mail article linked to above that I recognise this person.

They used to go by the name Rihanna and were on Tattoo Fixers s6ep2 where they claimed to have slept with all their ex's army colleagues (none of whom cared they were trans) and had got "Army Slut" tattooed on their bum. It was quite a memorable episode:

www.channel4.com/programmes/tattoo-fixers/on-demand/64325-002

I didn't realise at first because their Twitter photo is either a very poor likeness or their appearance has changed dramatically.

AryaStarkWolf · 18/10/2019 15:36

Interesting. Will hetero men now be corralled into having sex with other male bodied people and shamed about their genital preferences, as lesbian women are?

Of course they won't......if it effects men, men will win, if it effects women...men will win

CloudPop · 18/10/2019 15:38

@BlodwynBludd agreed - an ensuing employment tribunal would be fascinating

Awaywiththepiskies · 18/10/2019 16:04

Well, quite.

But the Wokestasi don't see it that way. Just old-fashioned feminists.

Awaywiththepiskies · 18/10/2019 16:08

No. Funnily enough Hmm sexism/misogynist language is not a hate crime. Funny that.
I suppose they thought, "Well, it's just women and really, it's a compliment isn't it. Being yelled at to get your tits out." I mean, women enjoy being kissed by alcoholic ex-footballers all the time don't they?

LangCleg · 18/10/2019 16:11

I'm not surprised and among other minor media stories and appearances by this person.

I was just about to say that this person appears to be a professional grifter who has sold a story to the Sun for a couple of hundred quid. This person was enabled in this by the stupid "in the eye of the beholder" definition of "hate incidents" by the idiots who lead our institutions. Being able to include a police "investigation" gave a hint of faux gravitas that enabled the Sun to call a shit piece of self promoting clickbait an actual news story.

Any fool - by which I mean all Britons who are not members of our terminally useless mediating class - could have told you these are the sorts of things that would happen.

Which is why we all need to support the Fair Cop campaign.

nauticant · 18/10/2019 16:27

No doubt nothing will come of it.

Except perhaps it might be included in the next set of hate crime statistics:

CampingItUp · 18/10/2019 16:28

Acting roles are exempt from sex discrimination legislation.

And, welcome to life as a woman, Ria! Too fat, too short, too ordinary looking... there are LOADS of physical characteristics that will preclude you from ‘modelling’ jobs 🤣

StoatofDisarray · 18/10/2019 16:52

Thanks - for a minute there I thought I had missed some big news...

If a transwoman is the victim of a hate crime, is it logged in the statistics as a crime against a woman? Genuine question.

Pota2 · 18/10/2019 17:45

I can think of no other solution than to ban the term hate crime and abolish it. A crime is a crime and it’s unhelpful to try to categorise it as something different just because of who the victim is. The police can’t even figure out what it is themselves (beggars belief). You need a crime for there to be a hate crime. Not being allowed to be in someone’s porno is not a crime. It’s a shame for eg racially aggravated crime but it’s become a total piss take now, there are scarce resources and the police are wasting them on investigating total nonsense, very often reported by people who have a pathological need for attention and revel in being labelled a victim. Needs to stop.

Michelleoftheresistance · 18/10/2019 18:46

Agree Pota I think there's more than enough evidence that everything everyone said when the whole concept of 'hate crime' was introduced has now happened, and it's been abused past being anything useful.

If you don't have the qualifications for the job you've applied for your offer will be withdrawn. You can take that up with employment law and have a go re discrimination: fair enough. It's not a bloody police matter, and it's disgraceful they've got involved.

Point made on TV by India Willoughby this week, their observation that people are becoming increasingly wary of working with trans people because they are beginning to expect the challenging behaviour, litigiousness, offended if someone breathes too loud, inappropriacy and all the rest of it that a faction of the trans community are constantly putting in the public eye.

NorthernNic · 18/10/2019 20:13

That's a good question Bezalelle. If TWAW then what are trans hate crimes? Surely hate crimes against women will have shot up? I'm confused.
