Congratulations to the adult human females who competed in the race.

To Naomi and Kirsten, I’m so sorry you’ve been cheated out of your rightful medals.

WomaninBoots · 18/10/2019 21:52

Yes. Very disappointed that FB posts are being removed! The WOMEN taking part deserve their results to be published. But we have to hide them for the sake of hiding criticism! It's shocking. If I was taking part in that category I would want my results to be displayed just like all the other categories are displayed.

Piers Morgan:

Virtue-signalling activists can howl at me all they like but this is just wrong. Trans women born to male bodies have an unfair physical advantage over women born to female bodies. Women's sport is going to be destroyed unless this is urgently addressed.

And as far as I can see, not one word of "transphobe!". Funny that.

I think if you ever had a penis, you never were, or will be a woman for sport, no matter how much surgery you have or how much you might self define.

andyoldlabour · 19/10/2019 15:28

Just watching the livestream on Youtube and the 35-39 sprint semi finals should be coming up soon. I have just watched an old aquaintence of mine take Gold for GB in the men's 75+ individual pursuit.

RiotAndAlarum · 19/10/2019 16:05

"Chat is disabled for this live stream." Hmm

RiotAndAlarum · 19/10/2019 16:06

argh!

aliasundercover · 19/10/2019 16:26

Disabled comments? Why would that be?
They know the truth but they don’t want to hear it.

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 19/10/2019 16:36

How on earth did this get past the BBC Monitors? It includes reasonable coverage of pro-women commentary!

Have they had the final yet? I was wondering if they'd manage to go even faster.

RiotAndAlarum · 19/10/2019 16:46

Didn't sport New Zwaland have to take down the weightlifting photo with Laurel Hubbard flanked by two wonen averting their eyes?

In 1984, Orwell had the Ministry of Truth getting rid of old propaganda about the former enemy. Asking for forgiveness is far more risky than denial.

andyoldlabour · 19/10/2019 16:50

I wish they would stop calling it a WORLD RECORD!
Sorry to shout, but it is a Masters record which relates to that particular tournament.
Simona Krupeckaite of Lithuania is 36 years old (would compete in McKinnons category in the Masters) and this year set a qualifying time in the REAL World championships of 10.945s to finish 14th.

Buzz
That BBC piece is a surprise isn't it?

That head shot picture of Rachel on the BBC website makes Rachel appear somewhat diminutive.

Rachel is not diminutive.

I'm desperately sorry for the women who missed out on their rightful medals, or a podium place.

On the bright side, this may mean more TV and radio interviews for Rachel, our Peak Trans Sherpa.

testing987654321 · 19/10/2019 18:19

I am actually quite pleased they won. It helps show how ridiculous the whole competition is. Obviously the names that should be celebrated for that category are:
Gold - Dawn Orwick USA
Silver - Kirsten Herup Sovang DEN
Bronze - Amber Walsh AUS

MockersthefeMANist · 19/10/2019 18:25

Maybe boxing next for our Rache?

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 19/10/2019 18:31

CONGRATULATIONS DAWN ORWICK!

Magnificent riding, well done!

Points of note: there was so much whooping and cheering for you in the stadium. You are clearly a much loved female cyclist!

it was also a pleasure to see you being so heartily and sincerely congratulated by fellow riders, friends and family after you returned to the paddock. There was no coverage of your opponent, and even the blank video screen got airtime!

In fact the only real footage of that opponent was a headless shot focusing on the pink and blue flag they paraded round, rather than the Canadian Maple Leaf as would be customary and sportsmanlike.

Ugh. Parading the trans flag is so disrespectful to the competition. The competitors are they representing their countries not some personal religion. RM is incapable of reading the room.

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 19/10/2019 18:47

Victory Ceremony is up in a few minutes.

Wonder if they'll bring their anti-women politics to the podium as well.

NotTerfNorCis · 19/10/2019 18:47

I can see a lot of people are upset but this is still allowed to carry on. The rights of one male-bodied person trump the rights of all female athletes to fair competition.

aliasundercover · 19/10/2019 18:48

Everybody knows who won that race - the ‘official’ results mean nothing.
It’s exactly the same as if Bradley Wiggins had entered, we would still know who the best women are.

SarahTancredi · 19/10/2019 18:48

Sorry edited slightly as I didn't want mosgendering nonsense getting us deleted for mentioning the m word in any context Hmm

Seems no ones taking much notice of them doesnt it. They all know who the real winners and runners ups are and you cant buy followers and use block lists at actual events.

Oops

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 19/10/2019 19:08

OMG. Rachel really did try and go there with the trans flag on the podium. Luckily their friend had enough sense/maturity/manners not to bring it to them.

Before they'd even stepped down, Dawn and Kirsten couldn't wait to hug and congratulate each other, while Rachel just walked off away from the whole area without a single word to the two women; let alone anyone else.

Apparently it is possible to be a sore winner as well.
