She is no friend to women. Unless they have a penis.

Disappointed ☹️

SNP seem determined to lose as many women's votes as they possibly can.

Birdsfoottrefoil · 15/10/2019 18:06

I think you meant to say Rhiannon Spear is the new SNP Convenor for men

MockersthefeMANist · 15/10/2019 18:15

It is becoming increasingly common to say that the best reason for not supporting Scottish independence is the SNP.

Apollo440 · 15/10/2019 18:38

So women aren't oppressed because of their sex but because of their gender (which you can identify out of I assume because men identify into it).

If only Afghan schoolgirl Malala Yousafzai had realised that she could simply identify out of her oppression she could have avoided being shot in the head.

Ms. Spear doesn't appear to be the sharpest pencil in the box.

MockersthefeMANist · 15/10/2019 18:49

Yup.

All Mrs Pankhurst had to do was ditch the corset and the big hat and invest in a topper and tails.

Enfranchsiement would surely follow.

TemporaryPermanent · 15/10/2019 18:51

Jesus.

Just read about her miscarriage. Very sorry to hear that.

She thought that women were expected to keep a stiff upper lip about such experiences due to 'gender discrimination'.

I guess I should be glad that neither Rhiannon Spear nor Stella Creasy found being pregnant, being expected to shut up about a miscarriage, or being abused for trying to appoint maternity leave cover, to be any reason to consider biology important when thinking about women's rights.

Juells · 15/10/2019 18:58

She's very dedicated, isn't she? Grin

"As long as we are working under the assumption that trans women are women". How do people arrive at this startling, illogical, belief?

Alltheprettyseahorses · 15/10/2019 19:11

As long as we are working under the assumption that trans women are women

Are we also working under the assumption that sheep are water boatmen, doughnuts are clouds and oak trees are prevarication? Who the hell lets these people get through the screening process? Are there not basic checks made?

ThePurported · 15/10/2019 19:29

Rhiannon Spear accused Meghan Murphy of scaremongering when MM talked about the problem of giving people like Yaniv access to women's spaces.

Babdoc · 15/10/2019 19:31

As a unionist living in Scotland, I’m delighted by this appointment!
Let’s hope she pisses off yet more potential voters, and drives women away from the SNP en masse.
Mhairi Black has made a good start already - how stupid does a lesbian have to be, to support trans right activists and their vile “cotton ceiling” insistence that lesbians should accept “lady penises” in partners?!

Coyoacan · 15/10/2019 20:58

I think we all misunderstood the term. These people are there to keep us in our place, not to facilitate us.

MangoesAreMyFavourite · 16/10/2019 07:58

I think we all misunderstood the term. These people are there to keep us in our place, not to facilitate us.

Omg!! It all falls into place now! Where do I line up for my re-education?

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 16/10/2019 08:02

It is becoming increasingly common to say that the best reason for not supporting Scottish independence is the SNP.

From Tartan Tories to Woke Wankers. I dunno why they're even pretending to listen to the public on this when it's clear they have no intention of doing so.

ProbablyShouldntbut · 16/10/2019 08:50

Can someone who knows how the SNP works explain the voting system for this position.

Rhiannon only won by 35 odd votes over Colette Walker.. who stood on a woman's sex based rights platform and was promoting the women's charter..

There were six candidates though - but was the voting system transferrable ..or was it FPTP ( if it was transferrable then it would shows a real degree of disquiet ) ..also are the full results posted anywhere?

Heyheythey · 16/10/2019 09:31

Ok. SNP you have some fantastic women in your party but I am well and truly disenfranchised now and I don’t know what to do anymore. This is a slap in the face to the majority of your women voters. I despair. You had a chance there to do something and you signalled loud and clear that you are captured, totally and utterly captured.

ShesDressedInBlackAgain · 16/10/2019 15:12

Are we also working under the assumption that sheep are water boatmen, doughnuts are clouds and oak trees are prevarication?

Sorry, total derail, but I'm in awe of how your mind works...

bettybeans · 16/10/2019 17:06

Rhiannon is magnificently dim.
If someone of that ilk had to get the post I'm partly glad it was Ms Spear. They'll run rings around her.

AnyOldPrion · 16/10/2019 18:35

It seems there is now a backlash building against the women who have resigned in view of these new appointments. SNP men are angry.

I find myself wondering whether they voted for men’s rights thinking that the men would make more fuss if they didn’t get their way, and now they are shocked that women are no longer capitulating as they expected.

Stand firm women. Keep pulling. All men, all politicians have to see that women are not going to bow down.

Fraggling · 16/10/2019 18:39

Women and girls are not oppressed due to their sex.

Well fuck you rhiannon.

Not just throwing women and girls all over the world under a bus but kicking them in the face while they're down.

littlbrowndog · 16/10/2019 18:46

This from Collette walker who lost to the woman who doesn’t know what a woman is.
I hope she gets some money back. Inclusive diverse. Only for the well off people

As I had to take my sight guide with me 4 days/3 nights , paying per hour ( even when asleep ) hired a flat /travel/food/drink ... overall cost for me to go to conference £ 1300, no help from party at all , struggled to even give me an accessible seat near front !!

SimplyTheWorst · 16/10/2019 18:50

littlbrowndog That is a rather damning indictment, innit?

So much for SNP's "diversity" agenda!

littlbrowndog · 16/10/2019 18:53

It’s awful really awfu for her.

She would have been great and am not a snp voter but I follw her on twitter and I liked her a lot

Babyjakesmum · 16/10/2019 18:54

Excellent News. I voted her number 1, so pleased at the outcome. ... by the way...

By the way this is a breathtaking amount of anti-trans, (and anti-Scottish) hate going here. Not surprised that sponsors are running the other way from this.
