Upfield (manufacturers of Flora marg, and Proactiv) don't want Mumsnet to buy their products any more

They've made the decision to 'no longer work with Mumsnet' because they want to 'treat everyone equally' because of their 'values'.

By this I'm sure they mean any woman who uses this site should definitely NOT buy their products. That would be an unpleasant association between mumsnet and their values that would be too much to bear.

Here is a helpful list of their products that they don't want in any way associated with Mumsnet:

Country rock
Flora
Rama
BlueBand
Lätta
Flora Proactiv
Becel
I can't believe it's not butter

Please don't sully their brands with any association from you, you horrid mumsnetters. Your money is tainted with unacceptable values.

@ MonstranceClock oh do enlighten us please. Because none of us have ever lived in the real world.

Lifeinthelastlane · 11/10/2019 16:59

Mumsnet feminism is an embarrassment to feminists
How do you know? Have you ever met a feminist monstrance ?

VictoriaSpongeAndTea · 11/10/2019 16:59

I do (did) use Stork for baking Sad They needn't worry I won't be buying it again if they don't want my money

MockersthefeMANist · 11/10/2019 16:59

I Can't Believe It's Not Bollocks

KatyCarrCan · 11/10/2019 16:59

Good to know. It might be fun to have a response in kind, ie signed by people who value free speech more than morally dubious butter substitutes.

MonstranceClock · 11/10/2019 17:00

Yes real life feminists who are allowed to form our own opinions, and not just follow the mumsnet script of what’s allowed.

KatyCarrCan · 11/10/2019 17:01
LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 11/10/2019 17:03

What’s that then? Did someone steal my script? I didn’t get one. Please - won’t someone tell me what to think? Because I’ve never read a book, joined a group, been on a march, protested an event...

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 11/10/2019 17:03

I tried their dairy free spread. OMG! It tasted like my usual spread.....

Vitalite dairy free spread is also horrible.

Ali1cedowntherabbithole · 11/10/2019 17:04

They’ve left a work experience teen with the social media account while they all piss off to the pub haven’t they?

I can’t believe they’re not better informed.

TiredofthisBS · 11/10/2019 17:05

I do love it when someone comes on here to tell us that we are.. (ahem looks at notes) bigots, transphobes, live in an echo chamber, not the right kind of feminist etc etc. Does make me chuckle.

MissLawls · 11/10/2019 17:05

Mumsent isn't inclusive!? Doesn't treat everyone equally? Well I'm not a mum and I've always felt very equal and welcome here. No one has ever said, what you doing here? You're childless. Get away from us. Quite the contrary.

I never buy Flora. Who does? Surely butter is best? Butter is a natural product. Never heard of the rest of those items.

Still I'm sure losing the custom of millions of women who are the main decision makers and consumers for their families can easily be made up for by that warm glow they get from the approval of The Woke. Not sure their shareholders would see it that way but hey ho, being Right On is worth the hit on the shares isn't it?

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 11/10/2019 17:06

Vitalite had a cool song in their adverts though.

Coffeeandchocolate9 · 11/10/2019 17:06

As somebody who is on her first strike towards being banned cos.. well I can't say otherwise it'll be two strikes innit... wtf are you on about Monstrance?

Newsflash; even FeministsTM are allowed to disagree amongst ourselves. I'm quite a fan of not allowing those born male
into in female sports or female single-sex spaces. I'm keen to maintain that sex is identified not allocated at birth, and that sex is different from gender. I'm guessing you might not agree with me, doesn't mean only one of us can wear the crown of Feminist Hmm

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 11/10/2019 17:07

Not as good as the tweet I saw yesterday (Conservative party group I think) which announced that people who had mental health issues should be neutered for their own good (should have been nurtured but apparently the tweeter has dyslexia and they thought it was a good idea to let him loose on twitter).

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 11/10/2019 17:07

When i wake up wanting me breakfast
What am i gonna spread on my toast

OOOOOoooooooooo

Vitalite.

Allmyfavouritepeople · 11/10/2019 17:08

Is there a brand competitor for stork? Prefer it for baking. I didnt know about the palm oil content either.

MrsJamin · 11/10/2019 17:09

Their old adverts foretold the truth

Upfield (manufacturers of Flora marg, and Proactiv) don't want Mumsnet to buy their products any more
KatyCarrCan · 11/10/2019 17:09

I think 'Monstrance' 's name choice was quite Freudian. It's amusing me almost as much as the thought of Upfield's sales team's showing their social media person the research on grocery purchasing demographics.

MonstranceClock · 11/10/2019 17:10

@Coffeeandchocolate9 no I agree with all of those things. But I’ve also seen many transphobic posts on mumsnet. Along with racism, disablism etc. Like I said, business wise, I think it’s a good decision not to associate yourself with a public forum that can house extreme views like some of the ones I’ve seen, and been on the receiving end of on this forum.

SunsetBeetch · 11/10/2019 17:10

Stop Funding Hate are utter wankers and have been in bed with Mermaids for quite some time.

I wish I ever bought any of thede shitty products so I could stop buying them Grin

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 11/10/2019 17:12

But aligning yourself with a personage who had a case against trans person Miranda Yardly thrown out of court for being a load of nonsense is good business sense? Ok then.

Datun · 11/10/2019 17:12

yulet

Mumsnet should sue.

Well I'd certainly be looking into whether or not anything defamatory has been said as a result of Flora's 'investigation'.

Perhaps they don't realise that the person urging them to boycott mumsnet for transphobia, (a non-trans person), tried to sue a transwoman, also for transphobia.

I can't help thinking that this can of worms has only been opened halfway so far...

TemporaryPermanent · 11/10/2019 17:12

But I don't have a script! @Monstrance it was a script that started all this for me. People being told in an official meeting literally to chant aloud that 'transwomen are women'. That was a script. Those words being projected onto the House of Commons like some dystopian nightmare. I can't say that. I can't! Not even knowing quite a few trans people, even being married to a desister. And from that, other things follow. It doesn't feel like I ever hated anyone. I do like Mumsnet though. Mumsnet who helped and supported me when my sexed body couldn't do breastfeeding, when I became a single mum through widowhood. Please dont attack it. Owen Jones never helped me but Mumsnet did.

Saucery · 11/10/2019 17:13

MrsJamin Grin I’d forgotten about that old ad campaign!
