Upfield (manufacturers of Flora marg, and Proactiv) don't want Mumsnet to buy their products any more

They've made the decision to 'no longer work with Mumsnet' because they want to 'treat everyone equally' because of their 'values'.

By this I'm sure they mean any woman who uses this site should definitely NOT buy their products. That would be an unpleasant association between mumsnet and their values that would be too much to bear.

Here is a helpful list of their products that they don't want in any way associated with Mumsnet:

Country rock
Flora
Rama
BlueBand
Lätta
Flora Proactiv
Becel
I can't believe it's not butter

Please don't sully their brands with any association from you, you horrid mumsnetters. Your money is tainted with unacceptable values.

It also doesn't make good business sense. On one hand approximately 12 million users, mainly women, with a huge amount of buying power. Say a whole big bunch of them start to boycott certain products. Do you think the profits will increase or decrease? What then happens to said company? Answers on a postcard.

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 11/10/2019 17:42

Amazing

Datun · 11/10/2019 17:43

You clearly don’t read much of the other boards then If you genuinely haven’t seen any of those views. Lucky you!

You were talking about transphobia. As are Flora. This is the board that discusses transactivism.

So where is the transphobia?

Flora haven't decided to stop partnering with mumsnet because of racism or disablism , but transphobia. You agreed with them.

Where is it then?

TiredofthisBS · 11/10/2019 17:44

You've made the claims @MonstranceClock. Now back them up

It's almost as if women discussing issues that concern them upsets some people, isn't it?

littlbrowndog · 11/10/2019 17:46

Absolute state of this. "We will not advertise on a site for Mums if any of the Mums are said to have engaged in wrongthink."

I said those views are on here, and I know if I ran a business I just don’t think it’s smart to be associated with something that houses those views.

Anyone in the world with a computer can sign up. It's not a membership club.

littlbrowndog · 11/10/2019 17:47

Vicky

It’s because they are women speaking

Simple as that

Datun · 11/10/2019 17:48

The reason you can't point to any transphobia, MonstranceClock, is because there isn't any. This board is about women, for women, and mostly by women. If transactivism didn't directly conflict with women's rights, no one would give a flying fuck.

Not wanting rapists assaulting women in female jails, or men competing as women in sport, is about women.

So unless you think women's rights are inherently transphobic, take your slurs elsewhere.

littlbrowndog · 11/10/2019 17:48

Omg is that licking arseholes thing have a special name in the Warwickshire guide ?

Datun · 11/10/2019 17:49

Oh I've just seen the undisguised misogyny. It's always the way.

MissLawls · 11/10/2019 17:49

I appreciate butter isn't suitable for vegans. Maybe try to find a Kosher alternative? Observant Jews aren't allowed to eat milk or milk products for several hours after eating meat. No idea why. Some even have separate sinks and plates. Anyway what this means is that there are non-milk alternatives to cream and butter. If you like in a large Jewish area, eg London, Manchester, Leeds, Bournemouth, you may even find your local supermarket stocks them. If not, online shopping may offer them.

littlbrowndog

I know.

Dangerfloof · 11/10/2019 17:50

I don’t boycott anything because I genuinely don’t give a fuck. I was just pointed out that I think it makes sense why a business would do that
Businesses are out to make money, if you piss off 13 million people or thereabouts for the sake of many times fewer people you will lose money. I cant boycott what I don't buy but still my ocado's boycott is going strong. God knows how much money they lost.

Mayo in buttercream? Not tried it....hmmm....
Go on take one for the team, report back soon.... like before tomorrow afternoon when I will have a hankering for some mayo choc cake with frosting.

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 11/10/2019 17:51

Rimming, apparently according on one poster on the thread, it's very popular with 13 year olds.

Saucery · 11/10/2019 17:52

We don’t have penises, MonstranceClock, as we are women and women don’t have penises, or have ever had them. So ‘circle jerk’ is not happening here Smile

I always find it quaint when the language of the locker room gets bandied about, as if the speaker/writer lacks any other way to describe what they are seeing. Very telling, too.

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 11/10/2019 17:53

Please report back on the Mayo in cakes thing.

Datun · 11/10/2019 17:53

Honestly, the intellectual paucity involved in this endless, desperate assertion that mumsnet is transphobic.

You're all transphobic.

No we're not, show us.

I can't, because it gets deleted.

Exactly. Transphobia isn't tolerated.

You're all arseholes/cunts/bitches.

🤣 absolute dimwitted, transparently misogynistic twattery.

Saucery · 11/10/2019 17:53

With no offence to any penis-bearers on this thread who bear them proudly and without subterfuge.

MonstranceClock · 11/10/2019 17:55

Clearly you lack reading comprehension. I’ve never once said “you’re all”. I said mumsnet houses these views. But I guess, if you can find something to be butt hurt about? Go for it.

CarWreck · 11/10/2019 17:55

It’s there, you just can’t see it

Do you not feel even just a little bit silly resorting to posting this instead of pointing out / linking the thing you insist is absolutely everywhere?

Dangerfloof · 11/10/2019 17:56

I’ll leave you guys to lick each other’s assholes. It’s there, you just can’t see it because you’re too busy in your circle jerk
That's a very umm Male language. Wonder why.

littlbrowndog · 11/10/2019 17:57

Well that one scampered away very fast shrieking insults as he went not even answering a question 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️
