They seemingly commissioned two articles showing both sides of the issue and then backed down withdrawing both.

Sarah Ditum's article was outlining the issues of gender neutral loos.

Cowards.

They pulled both which is a much better stance than anything the BBC do.

HDDD · 07/10/2019 16:31

Has anyone got a link/screenshot of the other one?

Michelleoftheresistance · 07/10/2019 16:35

I just read Sarah's article. There was TRA rage about that? Seriously? Over what?

LangCleg · 07/10/2019 16:37

Snivelling cowards in charge of everything.

The UK in 2019.

AncientLights · 07/10/2019 17:10

'Run the gauntlet of penis' (from Sarah's article) - very apt. Listening & reading the coverage since this story broke, I was pleased how it didn't really seem to be about trans, more about women not wanting to share with men. Now trans seem to be making it about them - what a surprise.

JustTurtlesAllTheWayDown · 07/10/2019 18:30

Now trans seem to be making it about them - what a surprise.

Yup, and that's more women waking up to what's going on.
It was simply a case of poor provision for women that was being discussed and then suddenly I started seeing TRAs piling on and calling anyone objecting a 'terf' or a bigot.
I'm betting there are a lot of people in the last couple of days who've looked at this and thought 'Hang on...'

terfsandwich · 07/10/2019 20:31

They couldn't make it clearer that misogyny is at the heart of trans activism and queer theory.
It's an excellent article.

I really need to start giving The Spectator some money.

yetanotherusernameAgain · 08/10/2019 09:02

SD has just been interviewed on Radio 4 Today programme, 8.55am.

truthisarevolutionaryact · 08/10/2019 09:03

Sarah Ditum just did a very good interview on Radio 4

RiotAndAlarum · 08/10/2019 09:03

Sarah Ditum was interviewed on the Today programme by Justin Webb this morning just before 9am.

Melroses · 08/10/2019 09:04

I think I just caught Sarah Ditum on Radio4 Today, just before the 9 o'clock news (I had just switched over) and it sounded like she was doing well.

Worth a listen.

Melroses · 08/10/2019 09:05

Ahh cross post with everyone! Grin

truthisarevolutionaryact · 08/10/2019 09:05

She was excellent - clear and to the point. It was the last piece of the programme.

RiotAndAlarum · 08/10/2019 09:07

Cross- posts! Yes, she came across as very personable and reasonable, as is the cause!

Just heard Sarah Ditum being interviewed on Emma Barnett's show on BBC 5 Live Radio (think it started about 11.20am I was only half listening at first Grin).

NeurotrashWarrior · 08/10/2019 12:17

The radio 4 clip is great. Today presenters definitely get it.

I don't think the other article will be available anywhere. I saw a screenshot of the author apologising for writing it at all when she should have 'passed the mic' to a trans person.

It's such a daft stance for a journalist to take.

TemporaryPermanent · 08/10/2019 13:12

Sarah ditum has posted the other article on the thread linked to above.

Toilets. One of the places I care less about in terms of them becoming mixed sex. But it's not my opinion only that counts.

TruthOnTrial · 08/10/2019 13:24

What thread link? The other MN thread about this?

I listened to this this morning, and verybppeased to hear it being aired.

It was very apparent whats going on in terms of being shut down if you're a woman wanting privacy in a toilet!

Glad its in plain sight whats been going on.

The TRA's censors! Bullies more like
