Exciting developments!

We are a group of detransitioners and desisters who have either decided not to transition or have stopped transitioning. Currently, there are no organized places for us to go for support.

We've started an advocacy charity to support people like us. Our aims (for now) are simple and will be built open over the next few weeks.

  • Build a support network.
  • Connect detransitioners.
  • Record our numbers.
  • Provide resources from professionals covering legal and medical advice.

We are officially launching our charity in Manchester on the 30th November.

You can follow us on Twitter @DetransAdNet

Great work. I’m very pleased to see some much needed support.

NonnyMouse1337 · 04/10/2019 21:46

This is excellent news! I wish them the very best and I hope they get more exposure, recognition, funding etc. It's so important detransitioners and desisters are acknowledged and included in any trans related policies and debate. It's been skewed to a picture perfect version by the TRAs for far too long.

SisterWendyBuckett · 04/10/2019 21:56

So pleased this has been set up - it's very much needed. Will support whatever way I can.

ChattyLion · 04/10/2019 21:59

This sounds great and glad they are making it a proper registered charity too.

OhHolyJesus · 05/10/2019 07:51

This is such good news, so needed. Wishing you all the luck. Fantastic news to wake up to.

FannyCann · 05/10/2019 08:03

Excellent news. Also glad they have chosen the official charity route. Let's see it get recognition and funding equivalent to Mermaids....

NotBadConsidering · 05/10/2019 08:06

I think this is bloody brilliant. I recommended starting a “detransition never happens” thread because of certain organisations - namely the Guardian, the BBC - ignoring the concern around puberty blockers and labelling that concern as “right wing media attacks”. They just cannot ignore amazing people like Charlie and all the evidence and stories this charity will collate. There will be reverse ferrets galore.

I see this as a real tipping point in challenging the puberty blocker concerns. 👏

NeurotrashWarrior · 05/10/2019 08:07

I've become a patreon. In honour of Magdalen. I really hope this charity can become a force for balance and change.

And there was one a while ago possibly started by RO. I'll try to hunt for it some time.

AGirlHasNoCake · 05/10/2019 08:41

Oh very well done! I saw this on twitter. A much needed service.

SisterWendyBuckett · 05/10/2019 08:55

Good Sky report - thanks for posting Neuro.

Thank you so much for this article! I have been warning for decades now that this would be the end result of antidepressants causing so much gender dysphoria! How many of these young people are yet unaware that their so called "medication" could have done this to them & are still taking it?! But they MUST be very careful weaning off as the withdrawal can be very dangerous for them & those around them if it is not done EXTREMELY GRADUALLY over months or even years!

bd67th · 05/10/2019 18:55

antidepressants causing so much gender dysphoria!

Do you have any studies that show this causal relationship between antidepressants and GD?

CatalogueUniverse · 05/10/2019 19:02

Interesting first post ABT123

Why don’t you start a thread about that.

NeurotrashWarrior · 05/10/2019 19:22

Thanks for the link DJ, it's too far away for me but I hope the launch goes well!

Amoreomeara · 05/10/2019 19:34

Have you read about James Caspian, who was told his proposed research into transgender reversal was 'politically incorrect'?
He has 17 years’ experience of gender transition, works at a private gender clinic, and is a trustee of the transgender charity The Beaumont Trust, but was still accused if being transphobic for even suggesting that more research is needed into this topic.

My 13 yo identifies as trans and has asked to go on hormone blockers, which I have not agreed to at this stage. There is no support or advice for parents other than, oh well you have to just go along with it or else you must be a really awful parent! :-(

Voice0fReason · 05/10/2019 22:53

This is excellent news, though tragic that it is necessary.

2BthatUnnoticed · 05/10/2019 23:46

If you’re on Twitter, please follow and support Charlie Sci.

Some disgusting creep trawled her FB, found a pic of her in a bikini AS A CHILD, and the AGP community is claiming it “proves” Charlie never identified as trans (!).

And yet... Alex Drummond, Danielle Muscato et al are “valid women” NO DEBATE??

Stay strong Charlie. The AGP rage is proving your point.

TerfTalk · 05/10/2019 23:58

Okay, I'm going to play "devil's advocate" here...

I think it's great that this is being set up and you've been offered contributions from the GC movement.

However, this problem is not the fault of the GC movement. We tried to stop it.

The people funding you should be Mermaids, Allsorts, and whomever else created this mess.

Any thoughts on this?

2BthatUnnoticed · 06/10/2019 00:52

Yes, but those orgs are actively hostile to women - particularly to any who question trans doctrine.

If we don’t support these women, who will?

PurpleCrowbar · 06/10/2019 01:40

It's a bloody good point, though!

Those orgs are ostensibly committed to supporting people who have discovered or are exploring their gender identity.

That would be de-transitioners then, logically, just as much as transitioners?

If not, why not? They need to be asked those questions.

& watched, as they squirm...
