Exciting developments!

We are a group of detransitioners and desisters who have either decided not to transition or have stopped transitioning. Currently, there are no organized places for us to go for support.

We've started an advocacy charity to support people like us. Our aims (for now) are simple and will be built open over the next few weeks.

  • Build a support network.
  • Connect detransitioners.
  • Record our numbers.
  • Provide resources from professionals covering legal and medical advice.

We are officially launching our charity in Manchester on the 30th November.

thanks for this information. I have had a look at their website and it does look useful, especially for parents of teenagers. My problem is that my 'child' is now 26 and in the eyes of the law an adult. Whilst I certainly don't want to rule 'his' life as somebody with Aspergers I feel that 'he' is not emotionally equipped to deal with all this and he has no-one else who seems to be taking all this as seriously as it should be taken.

Hi AspieMum - I'll pm you tomorrow.

NonnyMouse1337 · 22/10/2019 16:25

Are we allowed to post petitions? There's a one by this organisation that I've come across.

MoleSmokes · 28/10/2019 18:39

NonnyMouse Mumsnet confine Petitions to that locked filing cabinet in the basement guarded by a Leopard:

However, when you have posted there, you can flag it up to FWR regulars by posting on this thread and linking to it:

Mumsnet seem to be OK with this Smile

Thank you for the explanation, MoleSmokes. I did eventually start a separate thread. Will see if it's been condemned to the pits of the Petitions board. :)

The subject is currently being discussedon BBC2 Newsnight.

The increase of Gender Dysphoria referrals in children is very much explained by girls wanting to be boys. The Detransition Advocacy network and many commentators have a consensus that there are commonalities of 1) autistic females 2) overwhelmingly lesbian 3) sexual abuse often present. Other commonaility is disappointment that their dysphoria does not go away with the medical, surgical or clothes/lifestyle transitions.

My heart is hurting and the NHS is fundamentally failing these girls and young women.

This is an old thread but I'm bumping just because I haven't seen much from this group in a while.

From what I can see, it's been very quiet since November 2020. Its website didn't say anything about the Keira Bell case or Detrans Awareness Day.

Is it still going strong?

Elie and Nele, who created 'Post Trans' have published a booklet, "Gender Detransition a path towards self acceptance"

It can be downloaded from their website:
post-trans.com/Detransition-Booklet

and is distributed in UK (postage cost only) by Transgender Trend:
