I’m offering this without comment, mainly because my jaw is still on the floor.

respectyourself.info/maintenance.html

Let’s see how long that lasts for

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 10/10/2019 06:51

Maybe they can rename it "Stop Respecting Yourself So Much, It Makes You Hard To Talk Into Anal And Shit Eating".

Datun · 10/10/2019 07:22

🤣 kittens

HandsOffMyRights · 10/10/2019 07:28

Must be a real headscratcher for the council though, working out if fisting, felching, anal and eating shit is actually appropriate for children.

Or any of us. Is that what children are told we all do for kicks? It's a window into Jonny's mind alright.

StopThePlanet · 10/10/2019 07:29

🤣 But seriously...

Not to mention the high self-esteem a career in porn provides. Although, sadly, the high self-esteem will only last six months, as that's the average length of a woman's career in porn. Which is surprising, given all the positives.

Is there actually someone who gives a damn about child safeguarding in Warwickshire CC then!!! I had given up all hope of anyone putting child welfare first in that county.

Goodness, well thats encouraging. Has someone actually seen sense and that pushing porn is damaging for children as is normalising fetish.

They will pay for this dearly, sadly so will many dc.

Let's hope its adult that can't believe what they're reading that are doing all the clicking.

I know i would be if that was going on in my county.

What a leap to make that it must be helping so many dc. What an ignorant bunch.

Do your analysis properly before implementing child education, you unprofessional bunch of ignorami!!

Is that the plural, how ignorant of me not to know. However, noone was harmed. Grin

ShesDressedInBlackAgain · 10/10/2019 11:55

If they think the number of huts prove how well it works they should see the stats for Porn Hub?

LangCleg · 10/10/2019 12:10

I've just scrolled back on this thread and the in AIBU, but I can't see the comment. So I've 'atted' Lang to check.

Not me, sorry!

But teen pregnancy rates are down across the country for a variety of reasons, none of which have anything to do with Warwickshire promoting porn to teens and tweens!

Standard, sensible school education informing about contraceptive methods and dispelling myths about conception, plus wide availability of sexual health clinics seem to have been the main factors. FPA is concerned the rates will rise again due to austerity cuts in the latter. And we still have the highest rates in Western Europe.

Figures here: www.fpa.org.uk/news/fpa-welcomes-record-low-teenage-pregnancy-rates-warns-progress-threatened-sexual-health-service

I'd argue that confused educational material on gender identity is unhelpful - in the 1950s it used to be "you can't get pregnant if you do it standing up". These days it could turn into "you can't get pregnant if you have sex with someone who identifies as a lesbian". And I'm not actually joking, laughable though that sounds.

AncientLights · 10/10/2019 12:34

Lang I've been saying that too. It's the new version of 'my boyfriend said you can't get pregnant if you do it standing up/it's your first time'.

Prepare to see teen pregnancy rates rise.

BernardBlacksWineIceLolly · 10/10/2019 12:37

It was sexual assaults not pregnancy rates as I recall

AncientLights · 10/10/2019 12:38

Has anybody got any info on Jonny Hunt's qualifications for his role? I've had a look but it all seems self-reported, as befits the world he's in. Also, am concerned at his Twitter handle (right word?) - 'littlerubbercap' I think it is. To me, that's a contraceptive device.

*reduction in rates of peer on peer sex assaults and harassment in schools? Comparison with other LAs not using such material
This was on Twitter, from 2017
www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2017/feb/03/claims-child-sexual-offences-soar-england-and-wales-police-barnardos?CMP=share_btn_tw
The figures, revealed by freedom of information requests, show the number of reported cases more than doubled in 12 force areas over the period, including rises of 521% in Warwickshire, 371% in Norfolk and 345% in Lincolnshire.

TruthOnTrial · 10/10/2019 12:49

521% increase in sexual assaults and harrassment cases in Warwickshire during the time of their campaign.

How do they interpret that as its working folks!

Oh..... Sad

Datun · 10/10/2019 12:54

Ah, that's it Bernard, thank you. Sorry Lang, for getting not only the person wrong, but the data wrong too!

So GillyWeasel, teen pregnancies appear to be down across-the-board, due to contraception and clinics. But, in Warwickshire at least, sexual assaults have gone up, across-the-board.

Datun · 10/10/2019 12:57

I mean, it's almost more damning than anything else.

Congratulating himself that tens of thousands children are accessing a site that glorifies pornography and normalises degrading sexual practices. And not realising that sexual assaults in the same area are going up.

ChickenonaMug · 10/10/2019 14:04

Here are some figures re teen pregnancy rates.

Teenage pregnancy rates have fallen nationally. In 1998/1999 the national rate was 46.6 and Warwickshire's rate was 41.4. By 2013 the national rate had fallen to 24.3 and the Warwickshire rate to 23.4. However WCC were already congratulating themselves on the fall by 2013 and attributing it to the Respect Yourself programme.

news.warwickshire.gov.uk/blog/2015/02/25/teenage-pregnancy-rates-down/

I am pretty sure that if someone did the maths then they would not show a significantly greater drop for Warwickshire then the rest of the country. In fact I think that the drop would be less. So where is there specific evidence that shows that teaching girls that it may be liberating to be surrounded by men who cum all over them results in lower pregnancy rates.

Oh and the teenage pregnancy rates continue to fall nationally but the sexual assault rates of girls appear to be rising, and they are most definitely rising in Warwickshire. Why might that be?!

BernardBlacksWineIceLolly · 10/10/2019 14:16

yes, over that 15 year period the national pregnancy rate dropped by 48%.

The pregnancy rate in Warwickshire dropped by 43%

so they actually did 5% worse than the country as a whole

respect yourself ain't working Warwickshire. give it up.

HandsOffMyRights · 10/10/2019 14:41

I asked the CEO in my complaint what Jonny's qualifications/credenentials are.
She did not answer that part.

I assumed his Twitter handle referred to a condom.

Credentials...

ShesDressedInBlackAgain · 10/10/2019 14:55

We could reduce teen pregnancy rates by castrating all males.

We could reduce them by putting massive doses of female contraceptive pharmaceuticals in all school meals.

It is very far from clear to anyone who understands basic cause and effect whether this website is instrumental in reducing teen pregnancy.

But even if it is I'm not clear how it really matters when it is so obviously an awful idea.
