So between this and the thread about this thread being deleted, it makes me think again that we need a legal fund.
Like a pressure group that only exists to defend feminists in law from accusations of defamation or discrimination through failing to comply with gendering demands.
A group who Mumsnet could go to, for expert legal advice on whether something was legally objectionable or not.
A group who could make public pronouncements about what is and what isn't permitted to be said publicly.
Maya Forstater's request for donations did well, but wouldn't it be better to have that kind of welly available all the time?
I'm not able to manage a fund and I'm not a lawyer, but an organisation like that I would happily give £20/month to.
All this stuff is happening outwith the law, it isn't being challenged in court, self-id is being imposed by default, etc. (I know you all know so I won't labour the point).
The organisations failing to provide single sex services as mandated by law? We sue them. Schools that fail to provide single sex toilets as mandated by several laws? We sue them.
Horrible bastard celebrates the death of a brave and outspoken women? We contact his employer and claim students are affected by his misogyny.
Sue, sue, sue, sue. We'd be more successful than Yaniv, that's for sure.
