RainyG I have seen similar happen in a lesbian parents group I used to be in. There was a big push to change "lesbian" to "queer" because some people felt excluded by the word lesbian, then a big influx of "queer parents", many of whom were male/female non-binary couples. The feel of the group changed, there were constant massive arguments about inclusive language use (people insisting on chest-feeding, pregnant person, etc. and calling out and shaming any perceived transgressions) and eventually a big exodus of lesbian couples.

I thought that you might find this interesting re the surgeon who amputated the healthy limbs

"THE surgeon who carried out amputations on two physically healthy men has admitted he knew in advance that one of them ran an Internet website for people sexually interested in amputees.

Both patients were said to have had a condition called body dysmorphic disorder, a rare psychological condition which leads to sufferers focusing on a perceived imperfection of particular body parts.

The pair - one from England, the other from Germany - whose condition led them to feeling the only option was to have an amputation, were treated by consultant surgeon Robert Smith after being refused by doctors across Europe.

The two patients each had a lower leg removed at Falkirk and District Royal Infirmary - first Kevin Wright in 1997 and then a German in April last year.

But the Sunday Telegraph says Mr Wright, from Essex, is involved with a website called OverGround.

The website, which closed down last Wednesday, described itself as ''a support group for people who are attracted to those who have physical disabilities''.

Mr Smith told the newspaper that he would not have carried out the #1400 operation on Mr Wright if a sexual fetish had been a factor and denied he had been ''duped''.

''The website Mr Wright started was an information website and covered the whole spectrum of the problem, although Kevin's own problem was at the far right of the spectrum, those who want an amputation,'' said the surgeon.

''I looked at the website before I decided what I was going to do and I wanted to make sure that I was dealing with the right problem. I do not feel I have been duped.

''At the end of the day, I have done the right thing because the patient is extremely satisfied and has made a major lifestyle change for the better.''

Last week, the chairman of the NHS trust where the two operations were carried out described them as ''unacceptable''.

MY LIFE STORY: BY Chloe Jennings-White
physically healthy... and now want a surgeon to cut my spinal cord: Rare condition has made woman, 58, disown her legs
Chloe knew at 4 she was different and wanted to live as a disabled person
She wanted to wear leg braces like her aunt, hurt in an accident
Aged 9, she caused an accident to stop her own legs from working
Now she enjoys the excitement of downhill skiing - because she might fall
She spends most of her time in a wheelchair, but is still able to stand up
A doctor is willing to help her become disabled, but it costs £16,000
Psychiatrist: 'Is it better pretending to use a wheelchair or commit suicide?'

A Cambridge University educated research scientist is so desperate to live the life of a wheelchair-bound person she is prepared to pay a doctor help her become disabled.
Since childhood, Chloe Jennings-White has made several attempts at injuring herself so she can finally climb into her own wheelchair.
In 2010 she even found a doctor overseas willing to help her become disabled by cutting her sciatic and femoral nerves, but she could not afford the £16,000 costs.

So I decided it might be interesting to check out the psychiatrist treating Chloe Jennings White, Mark Kim Malan

This psychiatrist Mark Malan also offers therapeutic services to people leaving cults. He is a former Mormon and much of his practice related to helping former Mormons to live “authentically” following the shame and sexual repression that former Mormons experience. Which would be great if he did not have so many connections to dangerous sex cults via the Institute for Advanced Study of Human Sexuality (IASHS) the same highly dubious organisation from which Tuppy Owens (paedophile ally) acquired her “doctorate”.

The IASHS is an organisation worthy of scrutiny (understatement). Just for starters the faculty includes none other than former porn actress and promoter of the odious, racist Deer Tribe child abuse cult Annie Sprinkle and Joseph Kramer, Ph.D. - Professor (lol) of Somatic Sexology. The Adjunct Faculty includes K. Ray Stubbs aka Kenneth Ray Stubbs aka Ken Stubbs a co-author of the notorious “Deer Tribe Manual” in which the sexual abuse of minors is advocated and promoter of sex work as a sacred path via his various websites and books. Stubbs is a really interesting example of how a disabled gay man with an impressive background in human rights activism has drunk so deeply from the Kool Aid that he is now promoting a racist child abuse cult. Stubbs in just one of the reasons why it is now time for gay man and disabled people to make their voices heard in protest against this kind of astroturfing and appropriation of their causes and identities.

Back to Mark Malan; unfortunately many survivors of controversial religious and personal development organisations (what some would call cults) go on to be treated with “therapy” from therapists, psychologists and psychiatrists who are themselves involved in cults of a different kind.

If former Mormons experience guilt, shame and sexual repression as a result of their religious background (feelings that are not restricted to Mormonism but are experienced by people from all kinds of religious and non-religious backgrounds) it is easy to understand how they would be vulnerable to a mental health practitioner extolling the virtues of sexual awakening and living an ecstatic / blissful life courtesy of sex cults.

Last week, the chairman of the NHS trust where the two operations were carried out described them as ''unacceptable''.

Mr Ian Mullen, chairman of Forth Valley Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, confirmed that no more private patients would be allowed the operation at the hospital. But patients within the trust area would be considered if the board gave prior approval, he added.

Mr Mullen confirmed he was not consulted over the treatment.

He said: ''Treating people from outside our catchment area and even bringing them in from abroad was inappropriate and it is regrettable and unacceptable that it was not discussed with me as chairman.

''The decision was taken by the then medical director on purely medical grounds and the trust board was not approached, something we are disappointed about.

''This has had a serious effect on the reputation of this hospital and the view people take of it.

Mr Mullen said Mr Smith had followed correct procedures at the time of the operations and no action would be taken against him.
