Not really as au fait with the whole gender thing as I should be , but I don't actually understand what they are saying tbh.

Even if I tiptoe briefly into the madness of the “gender id” universe, I’m not sure what the hell this means. A “non male” - does that just mean female? And “non female” means male? How the heck is “non male” any different from “female” apart from being a circumlocution office way of saying it?

Strikes me as most transphobic. If you Id as a particular sex on the basis that you’re not the opposite one, Id say you’re not only reinforcing the sex binary, but grossly emphasising it, by re launching it with a new ironic definition that appears to be, well, really silly........

No I don't think they are trolling. The Green Party only recognises self-identified gender, not sex, and they have targets for how many roles are filled by non-men and the number of local candidates who don't identify as male.
The 'non-male' stuff was the work of Challenor and friends, so I'm a bit surprised that the party hasn't seen it fit to revisit the wordings and how they talk about 'gender'. I suppose they want to preserve Challenor's legacy?

The only time GP uses the word female in its correct sense is in the context of FGM.

No Errol, just google Green Party's conference agenda documents from the last couple of years. No parody. They've put a lot of thought into this.

They want roles go to non-male people but at the same time they only recognise self-identified gender, so they have to use the format "Self identifying Non-Male" for clarity to ensure that they are adhering to their own principles.

But what I am sure of is that the gender madness I've seen in the last few years and spending time on this board has made me sweary as F*#k now

It's a symptom of polarisation. We used to be able to discuss policies and vote for the party that was most in line with our views while still being able to say where our views on a particular matter aligned with a rival. This used to be considered normal.

Now it seems you either have to agree about every tiny detail of the party line or be condemned as 'Hitler', or apparently now an 'incel'. What nonsense.
