I don't know if I've posted this properly but I'm with the woman on the video.'I disapprove,I don't like it'.

I hope they have urinal emblazoned all over them or some poor sod might think it’s a drinking fountain.

The mass closure of public toilets is a feminist issue.
The amount of toilets for us v men is a feminist issue.

We have more life situations where we need to go more urgently (periods, pregnancy, elderly)
We're more often in charge of children who need to go more ( just remembering holidays, more than 1 place, urinals free, cubicles charge)

the world is still built with men in mind. Men can find and alleyway or bush ( as can young children and that has a similar level of social acceptability)...

It's stuff like this that quietly excludes us or makes us ditch our barriers...

And very few elderly woman are capable of taking a handy piss out and about, as well as a man the same age. Squatting in an alleyway and not getting wee all over yourself is a young woman's game.

Are young healthy males incontinent?

This is a health issue. Cholera springs to mind.

placemats · 01/09/2019 00:09

Plus typhoid.

Well no but men have pissed ever6where for always.

This is surely not news?

Treaclebee · 01/09/2019 01:00

I'm absolutely aghast that this is considered to be ok. If nothing else what the hell ever happened to basic hygiene.

A mention up-thread of the pissoir in Vauxhall bus station, London - warning: don't look down on it from the top deck of a bus as you pass by. You'll see far more than you'd want to.

if there's are limited resources, it would make more sense to build facilities for women and a a accept some men pissing in the street.

I agree with more facilities but NO to accepting men pissing in the street. It's ridiculous behaviour and we should not make men getting their dicks out in public acceptable.

Men just need to learn to think ahead a little.

picklemepopcorn · 01/09/2019 12:40

My experience has always been that men can last much longer than me! It's just ridiculous.

Natsku · 01/09/2019 19:36

Urgh I can imagine the smell. They had these at DD's scout camp and I was not impressed, although I suppose it did make the queue for the portaloos shorter.

I suppose men just don't learn to hold it because they can just piss in a bush/behind a tree/against a wall/now in handy disgusting public urinals so they've never needed to learn. And it's just accepted by society so they don't see a need to change. I remember going to a park on May Day one year and it was crowded with families and students and the drunk men were all pissing against the wall of the bridge in full view of everyone and the puddle of piss grew larger and larger so they stood further and further back, they just didn't care about the stinking pond of piss they were creating.

deydododatdodontdeydo · 01/09/2019 21:40

I've seen these in many European cities going back years - Amsterdam, Bruges, Ghent. etc.
Never seen one in the UK, but I live up north and never go to London.
The lack of places to pee is a huge issue though. Public toilets seem to have all but disappeared except in tourist towns.

FluffyCloudsInTheSky · 01/09/2019 22:08

Disgusting 🤮

Thought of this thread when watching 'Allo 'Allo and MME Edith drives Grubers Leetle tank into the pistior in the square outside the cafe.
