His dad is dead. He and his mother live in different apartments in different stratas which are next to each other. Apparently she is round there all the time. They both own their apartments.

Yet when Blaire White asked about the parents in the 'debate' last night, Yaniv talked in the plural as in 'they' are supportive, although I think there's little doubt that father is dead.

Absolutely. The Machine Stops gets more prophetic by the year.

I don’t think science fiction should necessarily be judged by how accurate their predictions are but The Machine Stops, Swastika Night, 1984, Fahrenheit 451 and The Handmaid’s Tale have never been more relevant.

Right now, there's not a lot. It won't always be like that, but we have a very very long way to go yet.

Apparently KF get frequent ddos attacks - whether this is one of those, who knows. But (again, apparently) it is fairly easy if you can afford it to pay for someone to do it on your behalf. Say if you were about to be arrested, and had seen people on there laughing at how you were about to be arrested...

I saw a report on Twitter to the effect that JY’s apartment is still under police guard. I’m not sure how the police force works over in Canada, but someone has suggested that the local police are securing the apartment until the federal police can execute whatever searches they need to do. (If it’s federal, I assume it’s the taser business that has set this off, but we will see.)

Sorry Juells, I thought I had replied but must have left it as a preview & left the page. Yes, I meant Kiwi Farms as others have clarified. They really say what they mean on there, no mincing of words like here. I think it's hosted from the US so their laws on free speech apply. One of their posters has been confirmed to live very close to the Yanivs so sees what's going on.

I’m not sure I’ve quite got a handle on what KiwiFarms is and why they’re there, but they have proved to have accurate sources on what JY is up to (including the multiple hospital trips, multiple previous visits from police, and screaming rows between JY and the mother at all hours). KF is down for the moment but there is a message on their site saying they expect service to be resumed within the hour.

Breaking news- raid confirmed. Interestingly, while it has clearly been occasioned by the taser possession, the final paragraph does say that Ashley Smith was spoken to by the RCMP last night. Perhaps there is a wider remit after all?

The final paragraph does suggest the raid maybe about more than the taser. I'm glad the police are finally taking an interest. I dread to think what they might find on JY's hard drive.
