I thought I'd start a new thread as the other one doesn't have a clear title.

Honestly, if all transwomen were like Blair White, I wouldn't even be having these discussions on mumsnet.

Unfortunately for Blair White, people like Yaniv exist. And are a threat to women and girls.

Maybe its just me then. I can't remove the misogyny from the trans ideology, even if there is a TW out there throwing out crumbs of sanity to grateful women. I think TW should be ignored, to be honest

BW was excellent. Nailed it. Cut right to the heart of it, while the Guardian and the Left in general tiptoe around the issue, terrified.

Yup. Just watched Magdalene's video. It's one of the few of hers I hadn't seen before.

Interesting that BW was totally against self ID as it can be abused and had gone through a similar gender recognition process as in the UK.

It's good that JY had a platform to expose the shitshow that is self ID, and the racist motives came across very clearly with the discussion about the phone call from the credit card company.

Wow. If performing femininity was an Olympic sport, Blaire White would win a medal for sure.

Magdalen's videos struck me as dry and witty rather than sarcastic, to be honest. She was extremely good at analysing and taking down the genderist position. Anything too earnest and leaden would have been less effective.

I don't really care if Blaire is an "ally" or not. The more different sections of society that speak out against this nonsense, the better imo. She did a good job at exposing Yaniv and the problems with self ID. And she raised money for the targetted women.

Did you notice during that recording of the call to one of the beauticians, Yaniv's voice dropped several octaves when they said "I'll check my diary". They knew exactly what they were doing (if any further proof was needed!)

Yes. JY was deliberately trolling that woman on the phone call - you could sense her confusion. JY enjoys making other people uncomfortable, and exerting his power.

I just hope so much, that JY’s online wrong-doings (which are awful enough) are the limit to their interactions with minors.

I confess that I only watched the first bit and found it difficult when BW seemed to be blindsided by JY when JY was talking about the rape crisis shelter. BW didn’t offer any counter to JY’s arguments. It could just be the pressure of live interview. It could be that BW hasn’t heard of or thought about the case. Did they come back to it later?

@bertrandrussell of course. Performing femininity also means behaviour, opinions. Like her idea that trans is about being non confrontational, helping others etc. It's all a perfect performance of femininity. And it's interesting how everyone responds to it.

Yes I agree and it's all a continuation of the same thing. When we pretend a person with a penis is a woman we pave the way for yaniv.

That's what I like about Magdalen Berns videos, she repeatedly points out that BW is no more a woman than JY is.

Her videos about the cotton ceiling was what first woke me up to how dangerous trans ideology is.

I hadn't heard of BW before today so I can't comment on whether they're an ally or not or whether they're someone who I'd usually align myself with.

Nor did I like the comments about them being prettier than JY because I felt it sort of 'dumbed down' points that were otherwise quite intelligent.

However more of this is exactly what was needed. An entire hour shining a light on the type of person who will also get access to female only spaces if we continue down the self id route. To let people know that for every Jazz Jennings who seems inherently vulnerable and harmless there's also a JY lurking in the background with their tampons and camera. And that is why it's such a complex issue.

Also JY was perfectly comfortable admitting that their right to have their gender affirmed overruled the beauticians right to refuse to handle genitalia. They were also fairly comfortable airing their racism too. I would certainly be in favour of an hour interview with JY on prime time TV.

FWIW from the way they dodged the question 'what does gender dysphoria feel like for you? I don't actually believe JY identities as a woman anyway. I think they're one of these people who like to play a system ie it's legal so I can do it.

I like the content of Magdalen Berns' videos but the chop chop chop jerky editing makes it very hard to watch more than a minute or two. Can't bear the BW whine? With an upward inflection? Like all the time? At the end of every sentence?

It was interesting that Blaire thought that taking oestrogen would make JY less likely to be predatory. The British Psychological Society has stated that this is not necessarily the case and Dr James Barrett (from the Tavistock) has also inferred that the belief that hormone treatment will actually render one less dangerous is false. (Both statements submitted as evidence to the House of Commons Women and Equalities Select Committee inquiry in transgender equality.

I do find the jerky editing annoying - I think it was a phase of youtube videos.

Berns is just great, though. When I first watched her I found her a bit shocking. Now, after peak-transing several times, I think she was just miles ahead of the curve. Wishing her all the very best.
