Well, in terms of ratios relative to the numbers of people in general and athletes who would agree with the views at the WPUK meeting, versus the numbers and athletic credentials likely to show for McKinnons event as a percentage of those subscribing to her 'philosophy' and 'ethics', the former is tiny but the latter may be massive.

I would love to hear from anyone in Sally Hines field who can explain how she got to be a professor at an RG institution and how she got that mega ESRC grant. Is she just batshit on Twitter?

Sally's online behaviour compares so badly with the calm dignity of the GC academics - Kathleen Stock, Rosa Freedman, Holly Lawford-Smith, Alice Sullivan, Selina Todd and so on, all of whom have interesting things to say and are able to link to interesting things to read, and never go in for gratuitous insults. Sally's massively outclassed by all of them.

That's it for me i guess. I was bought up to respect academics and learn from them. To see a professor at a good university who can't even get basic, simple, facts correct, blows my mind. Why doesn't she check?

God, though, it's criminal the backlash Rosa and Kathleen et al get - threats of violence, people trying to lose them their positions, people telling the world that their words, their academic work is literal violence that makes people unsafe - and didn't someone piss on one of their office doors?

Sally, afaik, gets no such threats - just women talking back to her, and obviously, laughing at her. But what else can we do, but laugh at such delusions?
