The TRA approach probably has worked to stop some people speaking up, but it will massively fail in actually winning hearts and minds.

I agree Lang. He totally understood what it was all about from the male perspective.

He doesn't appear to judge the sexual motive, at all. But he absolutely recognises it. Which is why transactivists hate him.

But even if you watch his recent videos with Benjamin Boyce, he's utterly oblivious to the misogyny which underlies the motivation.

So much of the TRA argument hinges on a basic approach of "we should all be nice to each other, especially trans people who suffer so much". But then I see those people comparing feminists to nazis, saying lesbians who don't want to have sex with transwomen are transphobic etc. That kinda pulls the rug out of the "be nice" approach and makes me wonder whether it's motivated by something else. Also, nobody has ever told me that I should be open to having sex with transwomen. That is because I'm a man. That tells me quite a lot in itself.

Germaine, i completely agree that it isn't a balanced discussion on here. But I don't see anyone threatening to "shoot TRAs".

My work had a big rainbow day to "promote inclusion and equality" all very obscure as to what that actually meant... references to identity and authentic selves. No outsiders posters everywhere. When the topic of trans rights inevitably came up over lunch absolutely nobody thought it was a good idea to allow self id transwomen into female prisons, changing rooms, toilets, sports ...Everybody agrees with equality and inclusion when they keep it vague, but as soon as whats actually proposed is spelled out in black and white normal people think its OBVIOUSLY nuts! Hence the #nodebate, hence why more and more people #peaktrans

whatsthecomingoverthehill It was in reference to the claim upthread that someone had been GC then seen how mean everyone was on the TIM thread and had their eyes opened. But I wasn't sure what they were supposed to have had their eyes open to? Facts don't change just because you don't like the people stating them! There was another poster who used to be all over here saying she used to be GC but changed her mind because of how rude we were. As if it's OK for kids to be brainwashed into transitioning as long as you don't like the people protesting it. Baffling.

When citations were given they weren't accepted because the original poster didn't give them. Over and over again

It definitely has, I agree.

But seriously Roses I'd love to take a closer look at whatever it was you changed your mind over because of evidence that contradicted stuff being said on here. I'd love to be wrong about something - in fact I would much much rather I was wrong on almost every point. The day I find out I am in fact just paranoid/ hysterical/ ignorant and that it does all actually make sense and it's all fine and no one's getting hurt, will be a very happy day for me.
