Is there a way to ask why men get to retain their own toilets?

LassOfFyvie · 09/07/2019 19:28

The gent figure has lost half of his left arm. Is that significant?

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername · 09/07/2019 19:28

Men don't have their own, that's only for men who have had half their left arm chopped off. Captain Hook, possibly.

Redshoeblueshoe · 09/07/2019 19:28

I would go into the men's toilets, they will complain - and they will be fucking listened to.

Lumene · 09/07/2019 19:30

I would be asking where the ladies is.

butteryellow · 09/07/2019 19:30

Surely they've forgotten a load of signs on that other one. I'd just go in if the first was busy - equal provision for all.

Grasspigeons · 09/07/2019 19:32

Shock that tells quite a story.

BendydickCuminsnatch · 09/07/2019 19:33

Jesus you need to kick up a stink (pardon the pun)

smashamasha · 09/07/2019 19:38

Do what Red suggests.

There are some funny replies on this thread though! I bloody love your username Bendy Grin

I had this experience when I was on holiday in Northumberland recently, at the end of a long walk I was dying for a pee and the only toilets were gents or unisex. The unisex one was really foul and obviously been used by men with poor aim.

PaintMePurple · 09/07/2019 19:42

Obviously the men’s have urinals and that’s why it’s the men’s and the other toilet has a toilet suitable for anyone’s use!
I’m not sure what the problem is?

smashamasha · 09/07/2019 19:44

Men's doesn't have urinals.

OP posts:
Polly99 · 09/07/2019 19:46

Men poo too, so there won’t just be urinals in there. Unless the one-armed man is a man who only pees.
Why can’t disabled men use the men’s? Is there no separate disabled loo? I don’t think it’s right if disabled people have to queue for the loo with virtually everyone. And What about trans men?

It’s not a good look if able bodied men are treated differently to everyone else.

Mitebiteatnite · 09/07/2019 19:46

Paintmepurple the issue is that men shouldn't be allowed in women's toilets. Thought that was obvious...

JoyceJeffries · 09/07/2019 19:48

Use the men’s and tell them between 9-5 you sometimes identify as a man.

DpWm · 09/07/2019 19:49

Obviously the men’s have urinals and that’s why it’s the men’s and the other toilet has a toilet suitable for anyone’s use!
I’m not sure what the problem is?

Because obviously we don't want to encourage men into the space without urinals because they end up pissing on the seat and/or miss and it goes on the floor, and women are more likely to take children in who might need changing on the floor and basically any bloke who wants to not use the gents is probably going to be a bit dodgy etc etc etc

AlessandraAsteriti · 09/07/2019 19:49

You could start by asking why men get their own dedicated bathroom but women do not.

DpWm · 09/07/2019 19:52

the other toilet has a toilet suitable for anyone’s use!

So if one toilet is for men, one toilet is for "anyone" why shouldn't women get one just for women too? Lots of women don't want to be seen by random men while they're reapplying their lippy or whatever. It's only fair.

PaintMePurple · 09/07/2019 19:52

I’m assuming the toilet cubicle has a lock? If so why can’t anyone use it!
If there’s no urinals then all toilets should be unisex and a separate unisex one for disabled.

Grasspigeons · 09/07/2019 19:53

Dear ..

Please can you let me know when the old mens toilet will recieve its new inclusive signage as it doesnt seem to have arrived yet. I have put up a temporary sign for now as its a bit confusing otherwise - with the delay in signage it looked like you only felt women had to be inclusive and i am sure that was not your intention at all.

OldCrone · 09/07/2019 19:53

Isn't this a clear case of discrimination? Either both should be unisex, or both single sex, otherwise men are being treated more favourably than women by having a single sex space when women don't.

Mitebiteatnite · 09/07/2019 19:54

Jesus, all toilets should not be unisex ffs.
My 12 year old had her hair pulled by a creepy old man in the middle of a supermarket IN BROAD DAYLIGHT last weekend, so you'll forgive me for not wanting her, or any other woman or child, in an enclosed space with men thank you very much.

DpWm · 09/07/2019 19:55

smashamasha
Men's doesn't have urinals

They should piss on their own seats then. Not the women's.

Sexnotgender · 09/07/2019 19:55

Do your new unisex toilets meet building regulations?
