Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

Police called to National Theatre to deal with gender critical feminists sitting on chairs

twitter.com/DadRogd/status/1147181198231429124 has picture of the unfortunate police officer sent to investigate.

Earlier in his tweet thread he says:

National Theatre Green Room bar just refused to serve us. Their grounds? Allegedly, we are a political group with views a member of staff finds offensive. So they offend a dozen customers instead.

Problem is apparently with t-shirt worn by Anne Ruzylo sporting a dictionary definition of a lesbian. As someone else has pointed out the NT is in breach of the Equality Act, given that sexual orientation and sex are both protected characteristics. I wonder how this will play out.

A relevant legal case. I don't particularly agree with him but he won because he was refused a service based on his sex.

So I wonder what the % of actual women - and lesbians (so not the rainbow-haired dewey-eyed familiars) will be at pride today? How many dogs and drags?

Datun · 06/07/2019 09:16

The press photographers have been banned from Pride. The National Theatre is refusing to serve lesbians based on their sexual orientation. Transgendertrend were banned from the Stonewall conference, because of the questions they would ask.

It would only take even one newspaper or TV programme to fire this into the stratosphere.

A representative of Stonewall just needs to be asked outright, on radio, or TV to define homosexuality. Or, you know, refuse to answer, like they refuse to be questioned, photographed or disagreed with.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 06/07/2019 09:19

Men really don’t like women do they. And men who say they want to be women seem to hate them the worst. Or actually is that their female familiars hate them the worst?

OhtheHillsareAlive · 06/07/2019 09:22

Homophobia on the eve of London Pride. Utterly utterly appalling

Misogyny & lesbophobia all rolled up in one.

The theatre is a place where, traditionally gay men have been accepted and empowered. But clearly not gay women. And actually, I"m not surprised - women in the theatre have long known about its masculine bias and even it's 'pink mafia.'

TimeLady · 06/07/2019 09:22

C'mon, Ruth Hunt. Let's hear your take on this.

Tanith · 06/07/2019 09:25

So if a trans member of staff can’t feel safe or supported, if a lesbian is in the building?

I think it’s a little more than that.
Young transmen and transwomen are listening to the TRAs, who are explicitly telling them that GC women wish them harm.
They claim we put razor blades under stickers. They warn their followers to “stay safe”, and they offer protection when walking in an area where our meetings are held.

I can quite believe that a young transman or transwoman panicked and felt unsafe on seeing openly GC women enter the bar.
They were unsupported - by the National Theatre restaurant that chose to play into that panic instead of reassuring them.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 06/07/2019 09:26

If the person working there felt unsafe and the police were called - how many bloody times a day does he/she call 999 ffs? They really shouldn’t be out in public if that nervous or delicate. Because working in a bar where folks get drunk, pissy and aggressive (and wear T-shirt’s) must be a very scary place for such a mouse. I’d love to see who this person was because I have my own mental image.

Michelleoftheresistance · 06/07/2019 09:28

Some gems on that twitter feed:

Intersectional discrimination - where discrimination against both the female sex and female homosexuality meet.

and my new absolute favourite phrase: dickpanderers.
Nails it.

This is indefensible. The staff member refused on the grounds that they were women, openly being lesbians. Apparently the national theatre serves only lesbians acting straight/concealing their sexuality, but welcomes gay males and trans. Indefensible. Appalling. Yes, lets get this as public as it possibly can go, because here it is, in plain sight.

This is an openly anti woman movement. Particularly anti homosexual women. And that's illegal in this country.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 06/07/2019 09:30

Can they be sued? You can’t complain if you are discriminated against on the basis of actual SEX these days but sexuality it’s boom time (or is that just for actual men?)

Michelleoftheresistance · 06/07/2019 09:30

And the picture of that individual in a leotard striding around kids outside.... would a woman put on that act and be paid to do it in the same way? If the answer's no, then whatever that act is, it's not a demonstration of 'being a woman', it's something else entirely.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 06/07/2019 09:31

I’m going to get my teensy pre pregnancy bikini out and give them a bloody eyeful. That will serve them right but - is like to think - not so unpleasant as seeing a man strutting in a skimpy suit with fishnets.

FormerMediocreMale · 06/07/2019 09:33

What I find really bizarre is that the horrifically dangerous lesbians were allowed to remain - just not be served. Surely if they were that dangerous they shouldn't be anywhere near the place.

Fekko bar work really is a bizarre choice of employment if you are that scared of women.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 06/07/2019 09:35

Coa surely men - in all their guises - start most of the aggro?

FormerMediocreMale · 06/07/2019 09:38

Fekko

Maybe a whole load of women in too tiny "lesbian" leotards, fishnets and highheels need to descend on the NT?

OrchidInTheSun · 06/07/2019 09:41

Well this is the clearest development yet that the transcult is steeped in homophobia.

What a great start to Pride

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 06/07/2019 09:45

I’ll see what my sister and her mates are up to today... she’s be game.

Michelleoftheresistance · 06/07/2019 09:48

Steeped in homophobia - but only against homosexual women
Homosexual men are fine.

There are actually one or two tweets on that feed trying to thank the NT for 'showing up' for their Trans staff and customers - validating that homophobia is not only expected but should be celebrated if it shames and excludes lesbians in public places. Lesbians are now transphobic for existing at all. This is plain against the law as well as just too batshit for anyone normal to be able to comprehend any more.

placemats · 06/07/2019 09:50

Lord men who say they want to be women seem to hate them the worst

That's because they know they can't be 'real' women and that Pinocchio is fictional fantasy.

A representative of Stonewall just needs to be asked outright, on radio, or TV to define homosexuality.

^HOMOSEXUAL
This might be considered a more medical term used to describe someone who has a romantic and/or sexual orientation towards someone of the same gender. The term ‘gay’ is now more generally used.^

^GAY
Refers to a man who has a romantic and/or sexual orientation towards men. Also a generic term for lesbian and gay sexuality - some women define themselves as gay rather than lesbian.^

placemats · 06/07/2019 09:52

So really the term 'homophobia' is redundant. Should by Stonewall's interpretation be gayphobia.

FormerMediocreMale · 06/07/2019 09:53

GrinGrinGrin

I'm still in shock that they've actually done this. Pandering to a homophobic staff member. Confused

hipsterfun · 06/07/2019 09:57

“A lesbian walks into a bar...”

Worst bar joke ever.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 06/07/2019 09:58

So we are back to fighting against... homophobia? Like the good old days eh?

TurboTeddy · 06/07/2019 10:07

Does anyone have any information on what the police said when they attended the venue? It seems the group remained but we're not served so did the police just chat to them, establish they were breaking no laws and leave?

I feel worried for lesbians attending pride today.
