You need to put double square brackets round the link (no spaces)

It's not clear that he was in prison when he caused Hope's death in March 2018.

He died in prison in April of this year, the article suggests.

He may have been sentenced regarding the extreme porn offence between these dates.

That poor young woman and her family. Aside from everything else, disgusting that care work is so badly paid that she felt that she had to do this for extra cash.

I think he was inside because of the extreme porn found on his computer whilst they were investigating him in relation to Hope.

Looks like the ‘porn’ (more like images of torture) was found during the investigation into Hope’s death.

Presumably they prosecuted that first as low hanging fruit and to get him off the streets while figuring out how to proceed with what would’ve been a landmark case.

It’s a confusing write up!

I think the timeline is:

March 2018 - Hope’s death

May 2018 - Dangar arrested and mobile phone taken, Dangar bailed.

Nov 2018 - Dangar arrested for the extreme torture images found on the confiscated phone.

Jan 2019 - Dangar prosecuted and imprisoned for the images.

April 2019 - Dangar dies.

June 2019 - inquest rules Hope’s death unlawful - presumably this is what was needed in order to prosecute Dangar for murder/manslaughter?

Apologies if that’s still inaccurate, I had three different windows with three different stories open to compile it.

Shame this fucker won’t be tried.

The comments under the article in the Independent Angry

Victim blaming. She was getting paid anyway. It was all her fault. What about the poor men who die in BDSM activities. She was mentally ill and killed herself. She was a graduate so she should have known better. She didn't bother to find out how do BDSM properly. She was in charge of what happened because she was the "professional" and he was just a punter. She was doing it for sexual gratification.

There are some sick bastards out there!

It's a pity the Independent didn't mention the details of his previous conviction for having porn on his phone of people being tortured to death, which he said he found "intriguing"!

That was in the article in The Express, which did not make clear HOW he came to have those videos and images on his phone. I assume, from the fact that his phone was destroyed, that the CPS decided he was not responsible for creating "snuff movies"?

What a f@cking monster and a whole heap of men in the comments putting everything on the woman who died!

I can't actually bring myself to read the article, this thread is the first I heard about it. Absolutely awful. So sorry for your loss and what horrendous circumstances.
