What a terribly sad case.

Please be warned before clicking link that this is upsetting.

That poor young woman.

So very sorry for your loss, lilyb93. Flowers

Your sister was clearly much loved, which is good to know, and how she died does not define her. No. It's the bastard who killed her who's defined by his cowardly, cruel crime.

I'm glad our support here is a help, however small. I imagine most people were horrified by the crime. It's only sick minds who blame the victim.

Hi lily. I am glad you are finding this thread helpful and there are lots of women on MN and in other contexts who will be incredibly supportive of you and your family. I hope the police are sorting out support for you all. There is a great organisation called P.A.C.E. who may be a useful resource too.

One of my best friends was murdered 20 years ago. His death has had a profound effect on his family, and continues to do so. We miss him enormously.

My friend was also subject to victim-blaming, although the high profile trial ended that somewhat.
I am so sorry that you and your family, and Hope’s friends, will never have the small comfort that properly served justice brings.

My friend’s parents were supported by an organisation called SAMM (Support After Murder and Manslaughter) and highly recommend them - there is no time limit, they are happy to make contact even years later: samm.org.uk/

I'm so sorry for your loss lilyb93 and that of your family. I can't imagine what you have all had to go through.

Another organisation that might be of help at some point is The Compassionate Friends, who support bereaved parents and sibling at any point in their journey of grief.
