Another one offering my thanks to Janice.

I'm so sick of people using the flag to get away with being inappropriate. That in itself is transphobic and homophobic.like they cant be expected to behave like normal sensible human beings. Hmm

Ifonlyus · 15/06/2019 08:35

Flipping am sick of having the conversation about Little Mix, Beyonce etc feeling empowered by wearing skimpy clothing

Yes, I love the response 'if it's so empowering, why aren't men doing it'

Although in this case..... Hmm

FreshAprilStart · 15/06/2019 08:36

Her writing is so precise and effective. Such brave journalism.

The Guardian should be ashamed for having the Owen Jones video as their contribution to this. Woeful journalism.

Brilliant article I am glad she has answered the 'transphobia' nonsense allegations

nettie434 · 15/06/2019 08:43

Great article - and liked way she linked the Gaby Hinsliff tweet and how political parties have ignored women.

Temporarypermanent this includes the link to the Ruth Hunt article about men and rape and associated thread:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3589456-Ruth-Hunt-in-the-Guardian

Doing this from memory - hope it’s right.

SisterWendyBuckett · 15/06/2019 08:48

Thank you Janice Thanks

Those words just don't seem enough, but please know how grateful we are that you're speaking out with such integrity and courage.

JessicaWakefieldSV · 15/06/2019 08:56

Great article Janice, sorry for the abuse you’re getting Flowers the BBC, Guardian & ‘Independent’ are trash.

teawamutu · 15/06/2019 09:00

I've also been considering cancelling my subscription for £££ reasons, but writing like this deserves support. I do love an angry articulate womanGrin

LangCleg · 15/06/2019 09:01

I read every official report into Jimmy Savile’s abuse in hospitals. What struck me was how he easily bought off the men: gave the porters TVs, took sherry with the consultants. He intimidated the young women. The only people who ever barred his way were older nurses. They could not be fooled. Nor are we now.

Saggy tits for the win. As fucking usual.

I'm not fooled. I don't care how many names I get called. I don't care who does the calling. Or which fucking flags the name-caller wraps themselves in.

Destroying child safeguarding protections, dismantling boundaries - do you know what this actually is? Because it isn't brave and stunning. It's abuse-enabling. Die on that hill if you want. I won't be standing anywhere near you.

As ever, thank you Janice. Flowers

HermioneWeasley · 15/06/2019 09:03

She’s blistering. I love her

boatyardblues · 15/06/2019 09:07

Saggy tits for the win.

That needs to go on a banner if (when) we take to the streets. Grin

Soubriquet · 15/06/2019 09:13

Brilliant article

Sad it has had to be wrote though

Ali1cedowntherabbithole · 15/06/2019 09:16

Brilliant article. I feel emotional reading it, as it’s exactly what I believe.

Thank you Janice. Flowers

Special award too, to lang for the slogan of the day. That needs to go on a T-shirt.

Popchyk · 15/06/2019 09:28

She's got a great way of putting it all together.

Clearly. Coherently.

The genderists will be incandescent with rage.

Melroses · 15/06/2019 09:31

Thanks Janice Flowers

Brilliant writing as always

(you can see why she wins awards Grin )

LizzieSiddal · 15/06/2019 09:32

Thank you Janice. Flowers

I read every official report into Jimmy Savile’s abuse in hospitals.....The only people who ever barred his way were older nurses

We were on “the right side of history* regarding Saville and we are now. The BBC, Guardian or NSPCC etc etc etc should take note.

truthisarevolutionaryact · 15/06/2019 09:33

Destroying child safeguarding protections, dismantling boundaries - do you know what this actually is? Because it isn't brave and stunning. It's abuse-enabling. Die on that hill if you want. I won't be standing anywhere near you

THIS

The realisation that it is the NSPCC that has evidently been 'infiltrated' and rendered incompetent by abusers / enablers has left me feeling as powerless as I've felt in the last few years (despite having seen their behaviour over the Guides). The chilling blog from Transgender Trend where the Hayward, a leading art gallery alongside Gendered Intelligence, is encouraging schools to bring their children to see an exhibition of porn, fetish and rape fantasies in order to "have a conversation abut gender issues" is unbelievable

www.transgendertrend.com/?cat=(id-cultural-influences-and-debate),(id-health-professionals-and-organisations

It's terrifying to see. So, today I am going to write (yet again) to my very right wing Tory MP about the NSPCC and the Hayward as well as complaining directly to the Charity Commission about both charities.

Thank you Janice. Nailed it.

What a sad state of affairs that one of my first reactions to this eminently sensible, sane, incisive article is that I thought it brave?

As other have said, a brilliant last paragraph. No apologies for repeating it.

We will not be bullied into surrendering our safeguards and seeing our liberation in porn.

Count yourself an honorary older nurse Janice Flowers.

Toorahtoorahaye · 15/06/2019 09:56

Can this be shared on AIBU please, this message needs to het out to those who are less aware

Floisme · 15/06/2019 09:56

Thank you Janice. Flowers You must have had a tough week and this is good to see.

nettie434 · 15/06/2019 09:57

There is a thread about the Hayward Exhibition on AIBU for anyone who has not seen it already:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/3612770-To-think-that-inviting-primary-children-to-witness-erect-penises-gang-rape-references-and-spikes-up-mens-arses-isnt-artistic-its-pedophilia

The transgendertrend blogpost about it says there is no age limit to see the exhibition.

auldcraw · 15/06/2019 10:02

Thank you Janice.

And to the Guardian and the BBC shame, shame shame on you.

thatdamnwoman · 15/06/2019 10:03

I wonder whether all the girls on the waiting list for testosterone at the Tavistock also know that 'Men will always rape women' and are trying to avoid that?
