A thread to say thank you and to offer support to Transgender Trend

I have recently been reminded yet again why the brilliant work of Transgender Trend is so important. For this reason I want to say thank you so much and also say that I will offer my support in a practical way.

Can I suggest that a look at Transgender Trend's most recent tweets might be a good idea. They can be found on their website if anyone cannot access Twitter.

Oh and just a general reminder that we cannot link to crowdfunders on Mumsnet.

I will donate, but I'm going to prioritise Harry the Owl first, as he only has 6 days left - and I would really like to see those police guidelines legally challenged.

So much important work going on! Meanwhile Stonewall & Pride are heavily funded by the government and rich corporations who want to get their rainbow cookies (whilst expelling Lesbians from their midst) - women (and men!) are fighting this via crowdfunding and hard work.

Just wanted to give a shout out to Paulaspoodle for highlighting the matter of the stickers.

Thank you, Paulaspoodle , for bringing this important matter to light. The fact that TT made an apology just goes to highlight that TT is run by decent, sensible and intelligent adults, who are able to analyse a situation with a cool mind and hold their hands up and accept that they made a mistake. My respect for TT has now deepened, and I have just made a monetary thank you to TT and will be setting up a monthly donation.

Indeed callmekalinda. The idea that organisations cannot make errors of judgement is a nonsense. Perhaps this shows partly why we are in this awful situation with other groups foolishly promoting the unacceptable and at times downright harmful or sinister for children - and then not being able to back down when this is pointed out.

Pleased to see that they are almost half way (56%) there - and that Harry is also within hundreds of his target. It's amazing what good, decent people can so when faced with obscenely funded lobby groups removing rights from citizens.

Now Harry has made his thing-that-shall-not-be-mentioned target, I shall be able to provide more support to TT's thing-that-shall-not-be-mentioned later this week. So that's good!

Let's take some time to recognise the value of the work TT does. Here is their safeguarding report, detailing the many loopholes that adopting extremist genderist lobby group guidance puts into our schools:

It's a brilliant document, pointing out that not only are girls and their boundaries devalued by extremist genderism, but also that the very gender-questioning children they say they advocate for outside the protections given to them in law. It's a scandal that this guidance is in a single school, let alone hundreds or thousands of schools.

I am insanely busy with my own research and have not given Transgender Trend the attention it deserves, however I spent some time recently reading their stance on pronouns and found it to be rational, sane and caring.

Yes. Look at what is happening with regard to child protection and the organisations supposed to uphold it. A great time to support a group dedicated to just that.

This. If there was ever a time to support an org with an actual understanding of child protection and safeguarding - this is it.

Yesterday we met with a Head teacher at a special needs school for pupils on the autism spectrum to discuss schools resources for pupils who are high-functioning ASD. We have a picture book currently in production for all Early Years children which was also written with ASD pupils in mind. We have attracted a top children's poet and children's book illustrator for this project, both of whom are committed, like us, to providing children with clear accurate information about their bodies while challenging the stereotypes which restrict them as boys or girls.

Think how important it is to have materials that counteract the harmful stereotyping, safeguarding-obliterating, queer theory infused boundaries-dismantling material that keeps cropping up in our schools.

Less than a week left... for er.... something supportive.

That's great news about the picture book for early years children. Transgender Trend are an amazing group.

I remember a few years ago when i first heard about what was happening re a certain ideology, Transgender Trend was one of the first grassroots organisations that developed as a counter- balance, recognising the rights of all children, and of sex as a protected characteristic. I remember feeling so relieved. They had to be anonymous at that point. We have all come a long way!

If anyone has any doubts how strongly people feel about what's happening in our schools re Mermaids, Stonewall and the rest, they should take a look at the support TT has got. Not hate, not bigotry, not anti-trans, just wanting the best for out children. Long may they continue to be the voice of reason.
