"It was tough conditions out here with the wind and the heat over the last three days but, as she has over the last six months, CeCe proved herself to be tough enough to handle it," said head coach Zach Emerson of the performance. "Today was a microcosm of her entire season; she was not going to let anything slow her down. I've never met anybody as strong as her mentally in my entire life."

Texas A&M-Commerce sophomore Minna Sveard took second place, as she posted a personal season-best time of 59.21 seconds. In third place, Central Washington sophomore Sidney Trinidad made it three finishers to post a time of under a minute, as she crossed the line at 59.49 seconds.

So Minna Sveard, Sidney Trinidad, and other unnamed women lose out again to a male person, and coach implies it's because they're not as "mentally strong" as that male person. Such progress!

How on earth can this ever be deemed fair?! Why bother having separate events for men and women if not to make it fair? Just bung the whole lot in together in the same race so that the men always win!

DpWm · 27/05/2019 13:22

Telfer ranked 3rd, 6th and 7th in races at this meet
That's even more insulting for the women who lost to this male athlete Sad

nauticant · 27/05/2019 13:24

But what about the mediocre men? That would mean they wouldn't win anything. Can't have that. The solution is that women have to stand aside.

RussianSpamBot · 27/05/2019 13:24

Also the constant references to Trump, the alt right etc from the TRA crowd are just you embarrassing yourselves at this point. Iran has embraced the concept of sex changes and has put out sports teams full of males in women only events, but radfems have the brains not to suggest this means the TWAW crowd are the ideological bedfellows of the Islamic Republic. You just sound about fourteen.

DpWm · 27/05/2019 13:53

Iran has embraced the concept of sex changes and has put out sports teams full of males in women only
And these males are actually castrated. Unlike the western "transwomen".

(Not that I approve of castrating homosexual or gender incongruent men. I don't)

GrinitchSpinach · 27/05/2019 13:59

ooh, actually Sharron has tweeted about this. She is so on top of the issues!

It's pretty simple there should be no male athletes competing against female athletes in women's sports.

Nothing else to say...

Tell you what sergeilvrov you feel free to be nice, make room, give up your spaces and your rights if you want but stop telling me or anyone else they have to do the same. See it’s like giving to charity, you get to choose how much you contribute for you, you don’t get to take my money out of my wallet and give it away, only I get to do that if I want to and in this case I don’t want to.

LolaSmiles · 27/05/2019 19:45

Another mediocre male athlete identifies into a category that magically gives them a leg up to win.

If only biological women had the mental strength to avoid sexual assault, the mental strength to avoid discrimination in the workplace, the mental strength to be paid the same as their male peers.

frazzled1 · 27/05/2019 20:07

...there are plenty of circumstances where we have to give our belief and support in the first instance..

There are no circumstances in which I could believe in and support in any instance an XY athlete (i.e. male puberty) competing in XX sports.

Humans cannot change sex - whether or not Trump agrees is immaterial.

PickleC · 27/05/2019 21:05

Like emperor's new clothes with sporting bodies saying how its a level playing field and you're looking around and thinking but......just look, how can you not be seeing this? Or do you see and not care?

justju · 27/05/2019 21:09

It's cheating even if it's technically allowed.

The same way that rape in marriage was absolutely not okay, even when it was 100% legal.

The rule makers are sexist.

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 27/05/2019 21:10

We've got to trust people more

Why?

I mean i know you let the words flow and they sound nice and all, but honestly have you thought about what you are saying?

Why do you think distrust exists.... take a moment to really think.... It's because people are not, on the whole, trustworthy.

That's why we can't fully trust everyone we happen to come into contact with.

justju · 27/05/2019 21:13

"We've got to trust people more".

Isn't this a bit like saying, let's disband the police entirely because deep down, if we just trusted criminals more, there'd be no crime.

PlatypusPie · 27/05/2019 21:23

How disheartening for the women in that race - all that training , to be let down and denied a fair race by an absurd twisting of the system . It Alice in Wonderland. How the person could stand on the podium without being embarrassed by their own effrontery is beyond me but I suspect a deep sense of entitlement comes into play.

thirdfiddle · 27/05/2019 21:36

Trust people? Trust what? Noone's questioning whether this person is trans, has gender dysphoria, whatever. Regardless of whether they have dysphoria, they are male and should not be racing in the female category.

MsChookandtheelvesofFahFah · 27/05/2019 21:45

So why is Caster banned and this is ok?

terfsandwich · 27/05/2019 21:45

It's comments like Sergei's that help waverers see that there is no substance or logic to trans activism. That's what persuaded me, anyway.

KatvonHostileExtremist · 27/05/2019 22:20

How little self respect CeCe must have.

Slow hand clap for you, you cheat. And those pulling your strings.

HairyPotter · 27/05/2019 22:27

I might be somewhat cynical here, but I can’t help wondering if CeCe didn’t quite run to CeCe’s full potential in every race. That would lead to the TRA’s gleefully pointing out that transwomen don’t always win so no male advantage.

FloralBunting · 27/05/2019 22:38

It's not about winning, although that is clearly what is occurring, for obvious reasons to anyone not in the cult.

It's about a male athlete taking the place of a female athlete. For all the placing further down the rankings, that's one more woman cheated out of her chance to place.

And go on, fucking delete me for saying male athlete.

MangoesAreMyFavourite · 27/05/2019 22:54

"We've got to trust people more" - trust gaslighting people? No thanks.
I am not standing and watching while men blithely give away girls rights, thank you very much.
And just because those men are not comfortable in their own skin doesn't make it right.

MrGHardy · 27/05/2019 23:37

sergeilavrov

What on God's green Earth are you babbling about? A male competing against women is cheating.

It has nothing to do with "don't want to cheat their way in" - just by competing against females as a male they are cheating.

AlwaysComingHome · 28/05/2019 00:29

Note that the ‘winner’ gets to wear shorts long enough for their number to be attached while the women don’t.
